Summer is just the start

Monses POV

Monse got up early on a Sunday morning, she sat in her bed looking over at her bag that she had stuffed everything she'd need for writing camp in, she grunted and flopped her head back on the pillow, realizing she'd be leaving her friends in just 2 days. "It's only for 6 weeks" she softly whispered to herself. She got enough energy to get herself out of bed, and ready for the day. "Honey! Breakfast is in the refrigerator, come down and give me a kiss before I go!" Monses dad , Monty said from the kitchen. Monse dashed to her father and gave him a kiss and a tight hug. "I'll miss you dad" she said, "I'll miss you more munchkin" her dad quietly spoke. Monse was used to her dad leaving a lot, he worked for a truck driving company, so he was always on the road. It gave Monse time to be in the house alone, considering her mom wasn't inflicted in her life, it was just her. Monse waved out the window, watching her father drive down the road off to work, she turned and walked to the refrigerator. She smiled as she saw a plate with eggs, bacon and fruit prepared to her. She grabbed her phone and sat down, beginning to eat. She opened text messages ruby left for her,

*In Texts*
Ruby: hey mon, I was thinking of throwing a little get together tomorrow night, yah know just because your leaving for the whole summer :(
*monse replied*
Monse: oh sure! My dad just left for work and he won't be back for a week so we can kick it at my house if y'all want

Ruby: oh good! Sure, we'll be over tomorrow at 7!

Monse: sounds good

Monse finished her breakfast up and cleared her dishes, walking into her room while putting her curly brown hair into a sleek messy bun.

She opened the window and sat down on her bed, deciding to chill out and watch some Netflix, she put on the office and tried her best to relax but something was bugging her. "I'm not ready for this camp" she thought to herself as she later on her bed alone.
