You arent alone

SPOOKY POV
Spooky came into the room with Cesar to see Monse laying down, crying in pain.
He gave her a heating pad to put over her stomach
"There's a lockdown mija, not much we can do" spooky said
Monse couldn't stay still, "there's something wrong with the baby I need to go to the hospital" she cried
Cesar looked over to Oscar with a worried look painted over his face.
Spooky sat up "you don't know that for sure, just sit still, once the lock down is over we will get you where you need to go" he spoke

Cesar laid next to her, holding her hand "it's gonna be alright" he whispered as
Tears fell from her eyes.
All she could think about was if her baby was alright. She closed her eyes and focused on her breathing.

One of spooky's friends came in with 911 on the phone
"They said they could bring her to the hospital now if it's an emergency"

Monse sat up slightly, wincing from the pain. "I'm pregnant, and in severe pain, I'm pretty sure that's an emergency" she shot back.

-Monse-

The ambulance showed up to the house taking Monse to the hospital. The pain got much worse, everything around her turned black as she woke up in a hospital bed with Cesar and spooky by her side.
"What just happened?" She said, squirming
"You were in so much pain you passed out mija" Spooky spoke
She moved her hands to her stomach
As the nurse came in to check her vitals
"I see you've woken up, how is your stomach?" She said sweetly
Monse looked around the room confused "um..it's better" she said
"Oh good, the medicine kicked in then" the nurse spoke as she looked at her monitors
"I'll go get the doctor to come in," she added as she left the room

Monse gave a concerned look at Cesar

"Hello Ms.Finnie" a voice said emerging into the room
"I'm Dr.Kern" he spoke, shaking her hand
"So looking at your stats, and coming from what Mr.Diaz told me, you are going to be ok, the pain in your stomach was low, correct?" He said
She nodded, "it was really bad.."
She added
"It's normal for women going through early pregnancy to experience cramps in their lower abdomen or uterus, consider it a good thing, it means the baby is growing and the ligaments are stretching, making room for the child." He said, pressing down on her stomach making sure it was alright.
"A lot of the time, younger mothers will get worse pain, of course your body is still going through changes and along with pregnancy, it could make it hurt a lot more" he finished

"Oh...so the baby is ok?" Monse Asked

"Yes, as far as we know. I'm going to have Nurse Jacky preform an ultrasound on you, just to make sure" he spoke.

Nurse Jacky walked in with her ultrasound machine, placing the cold gel on Monses bloated stomach, and probing it.
Monse, Cesar and spooky looked up at the monitor.
Spooky smiled, he patted his younger brother on the back.
Monse felt a calm wave of relief come over her knowing that the baby was ok, just hearing the babies heart beat was doing more than the pain killers.
"Baby seems to be doing good" the nurse said, cleaning off the gel
"Thank God" Spooky said
Monse and Cesar turn their attention to him
"I do care you know? I may be harsh at times but it's because I only want the best for you" he spoke
Monse and Cesar were in awe at his words, was this the same spooky they saw at the house a few hours back.

Monty rushed into the hospital room to see Monse attached to wires. "Oh my god," he said walking over to her "how are you feeling now? I'm so sorry I wasn't home" he said gently, kissing her head.
"I'm ok dad," Monse smiled "and it's ok, I'm grateful Cesar and spooky were there for me" she said, looking at them

"Spooky?" Monty questioned, which cause Oscar to roll his eyes.
Monty looked back down at monse
"Look, I was just talking to some of the nurses and they are going to keep you overnight, just to make sure you are ok" he said, putting a strand of hair behind Monses ear.
She sighed "what about school tomorrow?"
"I think you and I both know that's not top priority, I don't think going to public school is going to work out, at least while your pregnant" Monty stated.
Monse looked at her hands, fidgeting. Well there goes her whole high school experience.
Spooky stood up, "as long as everything's good, ima head out. Some of my homies need me. But I'll be here tomorrow if you need a pick up" he looked at Cesar "you staying or going ese?"
Cesar looked at monse then back at him "I'll stay"
"Ight" Spooky finished, saying goodbye and leaving
"Dad, you don't have to stay, I'll be ok" Monse said smiling
"I don't like leaving you alone in the hospital" he replied
Monse grabbed his hand "im not alone, I have cesar. And if anything happens, or I need you, I'll just call you" she assured
Monty looked at both of them and smiled slightly "ok...in that case I'll get back to work...but you have to Promise you'll call!" He said , picking up his bag
"Promise" She said, kissing his cheek

-later that night in the hospital-
Cesar sat in the hospital bed with Monse watching Tv

She lowered down the tv and turned to him "thank you for being there for me today"
He smiled " I'm always gonna be here for you" he replied
She gave him a quick kiss
"The way you reacted, you were so concerned" she stated
"I was scared, for you and the baby" he says
"You know...a few days ago I wasn't sure we'd be ready to take this on, as parents. But the farther we go, the more you prove to me that we are" She smiled.
He nodded, blushing slightly
"I agree, and I can't imagine going through this with anyone else" he replied
She smiled and kissed him again, reaching to the hutch next to her, turning off the light. She sat back into his arms and drifted off to sleep
