To: Steph

To: Luke

I don’t know…I haven’t seen Matty in ages. Luke you ate the last of our chocolate cupcakes! Haha. x

To: Steph

:’( Are you honestly going to make me cry right now? Pleaseeee come! And bring your Ashtonlover friend! X

To: Luke

Fine! I’ll come. Gosh. I have 4 cupcakes, will that be enough? I’m bringing Harper (Ashton lover) and Kat (Harry lover) x

To: Steph

Who do you love? Oh, wait. Me. ;) x

To: Luke

Oh my god, shut up. I’ll be there at 6. Don’t get cocky now. X

I look up from my phone, to see an annoyed Harper.

“I cannot believe you met Luke – freaking – Hemmings and I didn’t!” She hangs her red apron over the hook.

“Well, guess who got us One Direction concert tickets – with Matty and 5SOS opening for them!” I say, standing up, and moving to get a white box, putting four chocolate cupcakes inside.

“Erm, who are they for?”

“Louis. Besides, we need to go get dressed. The concert is in an hour!”

I send a quick text to Kat, who practically screamed when she called me.

I drive home quickly in my matte black Nissan GTR, and say hello to Louis and Rosie. “Hey, Rosie thank you so much for doing this.” I smile and she laughs, practically pushing me up the staircase.

I pull on my tight high-waisted grey skirt, with a half-circle cut on the left thigh. I pair it with a white singlet and look in my cupboard. I look alright like this, but there is no way I’m freezing my arse off to look alright. I see Matty’s old leather jacket, the one he left for me. I bite my lip and pull it off the hanger, slipping it on. My high heeled boots seem like they’d look cool – so I lace them up and run as fast as I can in these heels down the stairs.

We all decided that driving there alone would be the best option – Kat and Harper knew I would be late. Surprisingly, I’m right on time.

I get to the garage and have to make the hard decision of which car to drive.

My parents were well off. My father had an amazing car collection which we keep in our basement. The basement is huge. Honestly, you could fit a whole concert in it. He left me his car collection in his will. I was so goddamn happy.

Matty and Louis weren’t really car guys, and it seemed like my dad and I were the only ones who went down to see the cars.

Once, my dad found me down there late one night. I had just come home from school, and I was just sitting, looking at each of them. He smiled at me.

“One day, Stephy, these will be yours. They won’t be worth much, but you must keep them.” I nod at him, as he rests a hand on my shoulder. “You can only take the GTR, G-Class, and WRX out for an everyday car. They’re replaceable. But some in here are priceless.”

I smile at the memory and get into my trusty GTR. Dad gave me the WRX as my first ever car. We put the body kit on it ourselves whenever Dad came home from work.

-

I park up next to the black Range Rover Vogue – Kat’s. She had been saving for this car her whole life since she first test drove one. Harper soon pulls up next to me in her matte black Jeep. It’s amazing how empty the car park is. I would’ve thought it was packed. “Steph!” I hear a call and see Luke.

I smile and run over to him, and he pulls me into a tight hug. “Wait, Luke, people might see you-“ I try to push him off.

“This is the back car park, Steph. Thank god you listened to my instructions.” He winks and I roll my eyes.

“Jeez, you’ve got some beauties here.” He says, looking over at the cars. Harry walks up, nodding in agreement.

“That’s an awesome Range Rover.”

“Thanks.” Kat says, smiling at him.

“I’ve just bought a Range Rover Evoque-“ Harry starts.

“I’m sorry to be rude – actually I’m not sorry – but I know shit all about cars, so can we go inside?” Harper jokes and begins to walk toward the massive building. Harry and Kat follow along, but Luke holds my arm back.

“Listen, I’m so glad you came tonight. And it sounds cheesy but, I don’t know.” He rubs the back of his neck. “You’re different, Steph. Good different. You didn’t faint when I smiled at you, you treated me like a normal human. Thank you.”

I blush slightly. “Luke, I’m shit at saying stuff like this but, I’m glad I met you too. Don’t thank me you doofus.” I hit his shoulder.

He fake-winces, and takes a hold of my hand, beginning to walk towards the stadium.

Now, if this was any other boy, I would remove my hand quicker than you can say Marzipan. But it's different.

God, I hate the idea of teen 'love'. Just admitting to someone you have feelings for them promotes the fact that at some point, it will break.

Nothing huge will happen with Luke and I. Right now, we're acting like normal friends, right?

Friends do this all the time, don't they?

Yes. Of course they do.  Just friends.
