chapter 20: yes or no?

"I-i" I don't know how to answer. I want to say yes but I also don't want to get hurt again. I love him and I always will but if I say yes there is no backing out or turning around to walk the other way. So I did option number three. I ran. I wasn't sure where I was going but I went. I ran and ran and ran till I couldn't run anymore. I heard him behind me so I kept going even if it hurts. I finally looked around me and noticed I'm in the woods. I wasn't paying attention to the ground and tripped on a root. That's when he caught me. But it wasn't the person I thought it was. It was Kevin. "Let. Me. Go." I growled in my most animalistic and alpha male voice I could. "Letting you go the first time was the worst thing I could ever do. Now we can do this the easy way or the hard way. Your choice babe." He growled babe with venom. I kept trying to get out of his grasp by struggling and kicking. I was yelling my head off. No one came. Not Lily not Brad. No one. I was alone. No one was coming to save me this time, it was up to me to save myself. So I did the first thing I thought of, I bit his hand and kicked his dick at the same time. Then I ran the way I came. Turns out Lily was coming after me because I stumble into her... literally. "Lily what the hell are you doing running out here by yourself?!" I practically screamed. I feel bad for yelling but I worry. " I'm not alone Brad heard you screaming and ran ahead of me. He told me to stay here but that was almost five minutes before you got here. I'm worried something has happened." Yeah me too, I thought. I am so not saying that out loud to her. "Stay here I'll.." she cut me off. "No! No more leaving me alone. I can take care of myself and I'm not scared." She yelled. I was kinda mad she yelled at me but I'm also proud of her for being strong enough to step up to me. She's come so far since I met her and took her in that day at the cafe. "Fine but stay close!" I said. I can't have her getting hurt she's like a daughter to me now. We started walking towards were I last saw Kevin. As we got closer I smelt it. Blood. "Stay here." I told Lily. "N..." "Yes!" I growled in my alpha voice interrupting her. She stood down and stayed. I continued forward and as I got closer the stench was stronger. I finally got to the spot and what I saw was horrifying but I still let out a breath of relief. There stood Brad over a knocked out Kevin. He had blood coming from his head and arm. He had bruises all over his face and of what parts of the body I could see. His leg and arm are most definitely broken. I looked at Brad and saw he had a cut on his cheek. I ran to him. "Oh my goddess are you ok?!" I pretty much screamed. I put my hand on his cheek. Brad leaned into it. "I'm fine babe. We need to call someone for him. Even if he does deserve to be gone." I nodded my head at what he said. I texted the entire hospital team. They all came and got Kevin. Lily was in our arms now. In one big group hug we were all crying. " Well this is as good a place as any..." I said. Brad looked confused and so did Lily. "Brad these past few months I've learned that this is our lives. Everyday is going to be something new. Injuries happen and then there's Kevin. And the goddess only knows what else we will go through but in the end there will always be us three. Me you and Lily. So I Anna Maria Nicola stand before body mind and sole and accept you as my blood mate as well as saying yes to your proposal!" I kinda yelled the last part. He didn't say anything. Just put the ring on my finger and kissed me. We both picked Lily up and started home. As we were walking I couldn't help but smile. But only because I realized something. No matter what we go through this is it.
