"Hey, [y/n]?" The text said.
"Hey, Shaun"
"How are you?"
"Better since you texted me. Wanna come over for dinner sometime?"
"To your place?"
"Yeah, cheaper, easier, no people = more kissing. That work?"
"Sure."
"I could pick you up somewhere whenever."
"Tomorrow from St. Bonaventure Hospital?"
"Sure what time?"
"7, that's the earliest I can do"
"Okay. I'll see you then"
And she got there at 6:50. She parked against the curb on the street adjacent to the entrance. She got out of her car and waited, leaning against the hood.
She got out her phone and texted, "I'm out front of the entrance, pretty close."
He came out after half an hour. She smiled as he approached. "Good, you're still cute when I'm sober."
"You are very sweet," he said with a smile, shifting his weight nervously.
"Am I now?" She kissed his lips for a second. "You are too." She turned and got in her car. Shaun followed.
"Your car is very nice," he remarked running his fingers over the dash.
"Old as me too, baby. A mustang's always been my goal, and I found this one for cheap. Then again, I needed to replace the door, fender, and get a general tune up before painting it, but still."
"Is it nice having a car?"
"It's kind of a pain to drive in such bad traffic, especially with a manual. I normally take public transport around the city. But joyrides are so liberating, in a sense."
"What is it like?"
"You've never just left for a weekend, let the road take you somewhere you haven't been?"
"No."
"Well, Shaun, maybe we'll take one together in the future."
She stopped at the light and turned to him. She leaned over a little and put her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. She kissed him for a few seconds before pulling back. She refocused on driving...more like sitting.
Finally, they got out of the downtown traffic and drove through the suburbs before reaching a brick sign that read 'Parkside Apartments.'
She drove into a driveway and off a branch before parking. They were surrounded by similar-looking white and brick tiny houses. She walked up to one, and he followed.
She unlocked the door and held the door open. He walked inside, slightly surprised.
She seemed like a free-spirited, rowdy type that drank a lot, partied a bit, and drove a fast car, but her apartment was clean and simple. The walls were a light grey-blue, the floor light wood. It was pretty. It was like a beach house.
"What?"
"I don't know what I expected," he said with a shrug, "but not quite this."
"If it's any consolation, I have pizza delivery in my favorites tab and Chinese takeout menus on the fridge and beer inside."
He seemed lost for words.
"Hey, Shaun?"
"Yeah?"
"Kiss me." He approached her awkwardly, seemingly unsure of how to initiate. "It's okay, cutie. Just relax." She put her hands on his shoulders and massaged him. His hands found her lower back, and he put his lips to hers.
She smiled against his lips and adjusted her own, moving her hands to his back. She pulled him closer and rubbed her body against him. She broke away, nearly panting.
"What are you comfortable with?"
"What?"
"Shaun, I need consent from you before I do anything. Are you comfortable with my shirt...disappearing?"
"I...uh...yes."
"Help me," she whispered into his ear, slipping her hands down his arms to his hands behind her. She put her hands over his and moved them to her hips and under the hem of her top. She guided him to pull up and raised her arms.
He dropped her shirt the moment he saw what it was hiding. She was hot as the Atacama. Before he knew it, the view was gone and replaced by the sensation of her lips against his.
She pulled him to the couch and pushed him into it. She broke away, kneeling over him.
"Where is this going?" he asked.
"We'll figure it out," she said with a shrug.
"I like where it's going now."
"Me too, cutie, me too." She leaned down and kissed him again. She slid down the couch until she was on her knees and elbows above him. His hands rested against her bare back. She moved her hand to his face. She kissed him once more, slowly and building up. Finally, she laid down, part of her weight on the couch and partially on him.
"I really like you," she whispered looking up at him.
"I really like you too."
"It's getting kinda late for dinner."
"Damn," he mumbled.
She kneeled above him again and pulled him back up.
"How about instead of spending all that time making dinner, I just order us some Chinese food? We'll have a little more spare time."
"I love Chinese food," he flirted.
"Damn, you're cute." She grabbed his jaw and shoulder and kissed him again. "No more for now, order Chinese. Stop being so appealing for just a minute."
She jumped up and got her phone from her discarded jacket and walked to the kitchen. She came back a minute later and leaned back into his lap.
"Now, where were we?" she asked, sliding her hand up his chest to his neck slowly. He kissed her this time.
