Dear Diary,
Once upon a time, I liked someone. He wasn't a bad boy or anything of that sort. He was smart, got straight A's in pretty much every subject except for Literature. He had good manners but boy, was he the most confusing, arrogant, stubborn and annoying teenage boy that existed in my life. He was quite the athlete though I've never seen him play up close. I've watched him train and one time blackmailed me into joining the volleyball team. He commented how I'd make a good blocker if I could keep my toes on the ground.
I began liking him after a month, he was very interesting in my opinion. He excelled at playing the guitar and even played for me a glimpse of a song he wrote, and it was rather wild west sounding. I knew how to play the guitar for beginners, I enjoyed listening to the strumming of the strings especially if the song being played was "Take You Away" by Angus and Julia Stone. It sent me into a state of solace and silence. You would too, if you heard it.
But as I got to know him better, I found myself enjoying his company and I wondered if he enjoyed mine, I was, after all, an introvert and he was somewhat both. He could be quiet and at the same time uninterested while being loud-mouthed and happy go lucky. They say assholes flock with more assholes but he was an asshole and a dork.
Eventually, we became friends and things became normal until he mentioned that he had a girlfriend. My stomach did a flip at the sound of the word and I felt nauseous suddenly, but I'm glad he didn't notice my discomfort because that would've been embarrassing for me because my innards wouldn't stop jiggling inside and that was a bad sign that I had been affected when I should've not been.
One Friday afternoon at class, we had the period to ourselves since our Physics teacher, Mr. Ryeman said that he had to check our papers on our last pop quiz. I wasn't a very big fan of Physics, which lead me to get an unsensational C-. Luckily, this year, an exchange student from India came, I was the first person to introduce myself. I told her my name and she told me hers was Marie. It reminded me of that little white kitten in the Aristocats. Soon enough, we too became friends. It was us three, my old best friend in sophomore year was in each of my classes. Her name was Ruby, she had a crush on a boy in our batch but I'll refer to him as Apple. Because everytime I mention Apple, her cheeks flush red like a tomato and I find it very entertaining.
But the most awesome thing that happened to me was that me, my crush, Selena and Chris Anderson decided to go to the movies and watch the new release of Transformers and the most unpredictable things happened. I'll be sure to tell you tomorrow. But now, I have to go to sleep before Mom scolds me for staying up so late.
