Part 9 ~ Secrets

Levy's POV

I stumbled after the others whilst pulling up my sock. As long as they didn't know right now, everything would be fine.

"Levy? Are you alright?" Gajeel whispered to me.

"Yeah, just needed to re-apply some zombie blood on my legs." He nodded in approval and continued to move. His black hair had some blood in it, the red streaks looking like he dyed it. Somehow, even though he was covered in blood, he looked gentle.

The hordes of zombies around us began to thicken. There were more children as we got further into the town. Families lived in the centre of Magnolia.

It was sick, seeing all of these dead people move.

But then again, I guess even before death, we're all dead people walking...

The group decided to stop in a small shop on the corner of an abandoned street. Erza stayed outside to make sure that no zombies could sneak up on us.

"Gee! That was tough," Natsu moaned, his stomach growling loud. "I was tryin' to keep that in!"

"Natsu! Just because we got to safety doesn't mean you can go ahead and reveal our spot!" Gajeel whacked Natsu over the head.

"T-That didn't make any sense Gajeel..." Lucy said, trying to understand what he just said.

"It did! I said if we get to a safe place, Natsu here shouldn't make it stand out to any zombies!"

Lucy's dumb moment passed as she finally understood Gajeel.

"Oh."

I sighed and smirked.

"How have you lived this long?"

Lucy puffed out her cheeks and frowned. "I get it now, no need to be all mean about it."

Clenching and unclenching my fists, I let any other bad thoughts I had disappear. There was no need to get mad now, especially not in this crappy situation.

"Okay guys, we should be fine here." Erza said, entering the room. "Jellal? How does the building look?"

Jellal was white-faced as he joined the group. He mumbled out words, but not clear enough.

"I'll check it out." Natsu said, wandering through the doorway where Jellal had just come from. A sickening sound was heard seconds after. Whatever it was, it had made Natsu throw up.

"Natsu!" Lucy began to run after him but I stopped her.

"If Natsu couldn't handle it, then neither can you."

She crossed her arms. "What makes you think that you can withstand it then?"

"I know how to hold in my emotions." I said bitterly, "I've had 16 years to learn."

Lucy looked at me strangely then her eyes widened.

If you didn't know already dear reader, I was bullied in my childhood and early teen years... My friends oblivious to it all.

(LEVY NOT YOU TOO OMG I SWEAR GRRRRRRR........

Levy: What? Reader-San needs to know don't they?

Hmph.)

I strolled past her, not making eye contact as she tried to speak to me. The room didn't smell bad, like there was no signs of any zombies.

But then I saw it.

Fresh blood.

Stained carpets.

Natsu had huddled up against the wall, and he was wiping his mouth probably to get rid of any excess sick.

"It's disgusting." He said , aware if my presence in the room.

"Who was that?"

"She's not from Fairy Tail... It's best to keep Lucy away, I think they were friends."

"How do you know that?"

"Well," he walked over to the body and pointed at a key ring/ key chain on the girls belt. It was a set of keys, just like Lucy's, she showed me her keys telling me that it meant she was a part of this group called the Celestials.

She loved astronomy, what can I say?

"These are-,"

"The symbols of the Celestial group members."

"Ah, I forgot Lucy told you too."

He sighed and looked at me. "Should we, bury her or something? It seems awful to let her rot in here."

Suddenly, the dead girl started coughing and her eyes opened. She wasn't dead.

"GOD IT HURTS!" She screamed.

"Y-Yukino?!" I heard Lucy exclaim from the next room. She was beside Yukino in seconds. "W-What happened?"

"S....She happened..... Sting .... Where is Sting!?" Yukino tried to sit up, and that's where I saw the axe wound in her side, the axe still sticking out.

"Yukino you're going to bleed out if we don't get you help." I said, trying to calm her. It didn't work.

Erza rushed into the room and looked at us all wide eyed.

"The scream attracted them, we have to go."

Jellal and Gajeel came into the room too, barricading the door as they leaped through the doorway.

"We have to help Yukino!"

Gajeel rushed over to Yukino and picked her up, but she squealed as the axe moved.

Jellal showed no mercy as he yanked it out.

"Here! Take this as a make do bandage!" Erza threw some sort of cloth at Jellal who quickly applied it to Yukino.

"Let's go!" Natsu yelled, breaking down the back door.
