Gajeel's POV
I was in darkness, I could hear screams and zombie roars but I couldn't move or see anything. When I tried to talk, all that came from my mouth was a low grumble. Near to when I woke up, I could open my eyes, I found my self looking in a mirror...But my relfection showed-
"GET UP REDFOX!"
I sat up in my bed and hit whoever was leaning over my bed in the face.
"Agh!" Once my eyes had adjusted I saw Shrimp on the floor, not looking too happy with a bleeding nose. "Damn it Redfox! Do you plan on killing everyone here?!"
"No, I just have a self-defence mechanism in the mornings." Forcing myself out of bed proved to be an issue. I arrived in Magnolia in the afternoon from my old school, Juvia and I were transfer students, only staying for a couple of months. At my old school there weren't any zombies or apocalyptic things...... Damn it all. Why was I chosen to be a transfer student?!
"There's a meeting in half an hour, be there." Levy snapped with her head tilted backwards and a bloody handkerchief on her nose. She left the room grumbling.
"What happened to you Levy-chan?" The blonde girl Lucy passed the doorway and sighed. "It's like the apocalypse has made you into a grouchy old woman." She turned and realised that I'd heard everything she'd just said.
"What was she like before then?"
"Forget you heard anything... Okay?"
"But I need other information instead, y'know, to take up the forgotten space?"
She looked at me in confusion then sighed. "Basically you're trying to get me to tell you something else in exchange for you forgetting what I just said right?" I nodded. "Well, what do you want to know?"
"What's on floors 3 and 4?"
"You can go see for yourself," she smiled. "I was told by Mira that your an officer right?"
"Yeah, so... what do I need to do to ehh... 'Level up'?"
"You mean to get a higher rank? The number of zombies you kill or if you get zombie DNA and study it. There are a couple of paths to level up in. Kind of like a video game." Lucy took out a small book from her thigh pocket belt and opened it to a marked page. "There's a medical path which Wendy is on, basically they're trying to find a cure and they help people recover from any of the away teams. There's a path which I'm on, where you find any survivors. Levy and Gray were covering for some of my other friends who we in the medical bay. The third path is the building crew, they look after supplies, help create defences, and look after the base. Without them, life here would be awful." She closed the book ad put it back in the thigh pocket belt. "The final path is the most dangerous. That is the path were all you do is fight zombies and help reclaim land."
"Okay."
"Did you ever watch anime? Y'know, before all of this?"
"A little."
"Well then, you know 'Attack On Titan'?"
"Yes..."
"Well, the final path is like the Survey Corps, or Scouting Legion."
"Is it called the 'final path'?"
"Yeah, because not everyone comes back." I gulped. Lucy gave me a smile and ran off.
"What the hell is wrong with her? She just hopped away like a rabbit. Ugh, Bunny Girl is freaky."
"Bunny Girl? Gajeel, what's wrong?" Juvia tapped me on the shoulder, I turned to face her and saw that she looked different from yesterday. Her hair was tied back in a blue ponytail and she was wearing a dark blue tank top and light blue denim shorts. She was wearing black combat boots. Juvia looked badass.
"Nothing. And where did you get that clothing?!"
"Juvia found it in her closet. Don't you think Juvia looks nice?" She spun around, her hair almost hitting me in the face.
"Sure, Gajeel thinks Juvia looks nice."
Oh, before I continue, I'm going to break the 4th wall again.
GAJEEL!
Gajeel: Gihihi.
Anyway, when I was a baby my mother left my father and when I was about 6 my dad left me. Don't cry reader, because this was when I met Juvia. She'd been thrown out by her family too because she kept bringing the rain to them and they lived near the beach so they hated it. We managed to get into this cool school 'Phantom Lord' and we were allowed to sleep in their dorms. Juvia is basically my sister.
So don't worry reader, this will be a fanfic with me being incredibly awesome! Shoo-be-do-bop!
I'm so sorry reader, please forgive me.
:'(Continue on....
"Thank you Gajeel!" Juvia smiled and gave me a hug. "This place is not so bad! You know, Juvia is starting to like this place."
"Do you know about the paths?"
"Gray-sama has informed Juvia about them, I'm still deciding." She paused for a moment. "What was Juvia about to show Gajeel?"
Suddenly her eyes lit up and she pointed to her thigh. "Juvia received the mark of Fairy Tail!" I looked and saw a strange blue emblem. "Gajeel will receive his today!"
"Eh?"
"Gajeel Refox?" I turned and saw a girl looking like Lara Croft but with red hair. "Come with me, you're getting your Fairy Tail mark." I didn't question her, instead I grumbled about having to get a weird mark placed on me and followed her.------------
It didn't take long, they had a strange stamp thing which imprinted the mark on me.
"Where do you want you mark?" A guy called Reedus asked.
"On my arm." I pointed to where I wanted it to go, he nodded and within a few seconds it was done.
"There's a mirror over there if you want to see it." The red haired girl from earlier said. "Don't forget to thank Reedus."
I reluctantly thanked the guy and walked over to the mirror. I looked like sh*t. But there was a black emblem on my arm, just like Juvia's aside from the colour.
"I'm Erza," the girl put her hand out. "This is where you shake my hand and tell me what happened when you and Juvia were on your way here."
"It was normal. When we tried to find Fairy Tail some guys attacked us, then more joined in. We didn't get hurt, but when Juvia was about to be overwhelmed by a group of them, McGarden and the others came in and shot all of the zombies in the heads." Erza nodded then started to walk away.
"Okay then, oh and Makarov wants you two to go to the fighting room and train. You can pick your paths tomorrow if you want. Or today, or anytime later this week. Your choice."
After she left me alone I wandered around to find Juvia. By the time I found her, we were already outside the fighting room. We entered and saw that the room was bigger than we expected. I recognised Gray and the pink haired guy... What was his name.... It'll come to me, anyway, they were fighting on a blue mat as well as a bunch of other people. Mira was watching a girl, who looked similar to her, fight the manly guy from yesterday.
"Come on Lisanna! If you want to be a part of the away team you have to be able to protect yourself! Start again! Elfman! Don't hold back!"
"Huh?!" Lisanna cried. "Are all zombies going to be this tough?!"
I walked over to an empty blue mat and started to warm up. Juvia did the same.
We began to fight minutes after.
Juvia tried to kick my feet and throw me off balance, but I jumped up and kicked her in the shoulder. Not hard though, it wasn't life or death. She was knocked back a metre or so, then she ran forwards and aimed a punch at me. I aimed a punch as well. Hers met my stomach and mine met the same shoulder I'd kicked. I took a stride back, catching my breath. She knelt to the floor, clutching her shoulder.
"You okay?" I huffed.
"Yeah." Juvia answered, laughing. "Remember when we used to fight all the time?"
"Like it was yesterday."
Again and again, we'd throw punches or try to trip the other one up. In the end I won, and a little crowd had formed around us.
"That was awesome!" The Lisanna girl said.
"You guys are the newbies right?!" A brunette asked.
"That was impressive Gajeel, Juvia." Mira-Jane smiled. "I didn't know you two could do that."
"We used to have some of our own fighting lessons..." Juvia shyly said. "Gajeel always won."
"Oh really?"
We all turned and saw Levy walk through the door, her face looking much better than earlier.
"How's your nose Shrimp?"
"Shut it."
"I'm okay, I think I'll keep talking."
"If you can beat me, I'll let you call me Shrimp for the rest of your days. But if you do beat me, your days may or may not be numbered."
"Are you that much of a sore loser?"
"Just fight me."
Juvia hurried off the mat and joined the crowd.
"Don't cry alright?"
"I'm strong! May not look like it, but every small thing packs a mighty punch!"
"Who says that?"
"I do."
"Well then, 'I do' must be a powerful guy."
"Seriously?!"
"Gihihi! Fine, be prepared!" I yelled as I aimed a punch at her face.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
