Marinette POV

After a few more weeks in the hospital, Marinette was finally allowed to go home, but not after being given serious instructions from the doctors to not move around too much, and to keep her stress levels low.

Marinette had unhappily agreed as it meant that she was unable to become Ladybug and help protect Paris, but she knew that if she did there would be a high chance of her messing up, making the situation and her injuries worse.

Many of her small cuts and bruises were healed, but she still had a few broken ribs, a broken leg and multiple deep cuts, as well as dark bruises that still needed to heal. In other words her body was still a mess, but as many people told her she was at least still alive.

Once she arrived at home she had been greeted by multiple treats and savory delights, but was only allowed to eat them once she was safely and comfortably put in her bed. Unfortunately though she had not eaten much of the delicious food as she started to feel sick after two croissants and three macaroons.

So she had secretly stashed a few of the treats in her bag so that Tikki could get a bite to eat and the rest she asked her parents to either put away for another day or sell to one of their many customers.

But even though Marinette hated being cooped up in bed all day she was grateful that she didn't have to go to school, especially since the last time she had been there she was expelled. Apparently though that expulsion had been lifted, along with her suspension.

A few days after Marinette arrived home she had asked her parents about school and what she was supposed to do, since she didn't want to move schools, but was not especially happy with going to school due to the recent events. Her mom just answered:

"Oh don't worry Marinette. When the principle found out about the accident, along with one of your classmates presenting evidence of what actually happened that day to the principle and Chloe's father, who was there at the time."

"He immediately called us to say that he was wrong and that you were no longer expelled from the school. He also added that Chloe was punished with cleaning up the whole school for three weeks, and told us that he wouldn't give any other punishment as the knowledge that she was one of the causes for the crash would be enough of an added punishment."

These words surprised Marinette, especially the part where one of her classmates had presented evidence on what had actually happened in the lab.

That must have been Adrien, after all he did say that he had found proof that I was not guilty. Marinette smiled to herself as she lay in her bed, her back positioned so that she would feel little pain throughout her body.

He kept his promise, it may have been a little late but...better late than never. I never should have doubted him, I can't believe he actually kept it!

Small tears trickled down her cheeks. She was glad that she was no longer expelled, but she was too afraid to actually go back there, or to act like nothing had happened. After all she knew that that would be what she would resort to when she went back.

"Ugh," she let a small sigh escape her lips.

"Marinette what's wrong?" Tikki asked, the red Kwami laying on top of Marinette's head.

"What do you mean Tikki?"

"Well, for starters you're crying and you just let out a loud sigh...so there's definitely something wrong," Tikki flew off Marinette's head and landed on the girls chest.

"I was just thinking..." Marinette found her eyes drifting to the ceiling of her bedroom.

"Thinking about what?"
