Marinette POV
A few days had passed since Marinette woke up from her coma, she didn't entirely know how long she had been 'asleep' for, but judging by her parents' expressions when they had first seen her awake she had guessed that she had been asleep for a while.
Although what most surprised her when she woke up was not the state she was in, but rather the fact that her 'friends' had been visiting her everyday since she had gone to the hospital, as well as when she had woken up.
It completely surprised her, since the last time she had seen them, they had not said the nicest things. Believing Chloe over her, their friend was one thing, but what came after...
...completely...
...destroyed her.
Even though they continued to apologise and she continued to say she forgave them...it was all a lie for her. She usually forgave people easily, but this time, this time it was different. These were her friends, people she trusted, but they turned on her, not giving her a chance to speak. Not to mention the fact that she was in shock at the time, and that went unnoticed by them.
The person who most surprised her though was Adrien, and thinking back to the day she had woken up, she didn't see how she couldn't be shocked. Apparently her parents and 'friends' told her that he had visited her the most, visiting every morning and evening, speaking to her sleeping body the whole time.
Thinking about it now she couldn't help but blush and feel embarrassed, Adrien had seen her everyday, throughout her whole time being in the hospital, and the fact that he had been talking to her when she was in her coma 'asleep' made her feel uneasy, but at the same time...she felt touched.
Why would he do that though? Was a question that kept popping up in her head.
I know I'm his friend, and he knew that I was innocent in the incident at school, he had told me so himself, but still...why? Her thoughts continued trying to find a reason, they had been ever since he had come rushing into her hospital room.
A look of disbelief and relief on his gorgeous face when he had seen her, and by his appearance she had known that he had barely slept. She couldn't believe that he would get into such a state, especially over her. She still was unable to wrap her head around it.
For the past few days she had been in the hospital her thoughts had been focused on Adrien and her 'friends'. She acted the same around them, but she still felt hurt by what they had done, especially Alya and Nino. However, she was willing to give them another chance, not 100% forgive them though.
Alya and Nino came to visit everyday, either in the mornings or evenings, talking to her about what happened in class, how everyone was doing and the latest gossip that managed to surface those past few days. They would laugh and talk until their time was up. Usually their visit lasted from half an hour to an hour, either leaving for family reasons, or, to go on a date.
Marinette didn't mind since at times the emotional pain she felt would try to surface, especially when they talked about Chloe and her drama. Although apparently ever since the accident, Chloe had become less obnoxious, not completely to normal standards, but for those who knew Chloe, this was huge.
A small part of Marinette wanted to see this Chloe, but another side knew that she wouldn't be able to bring herself to even look at her. It would just hurt too much, and she might let her emotions get out of control, allowing herself to fall victim to Hawkmoth. That was the last thing she wanted to do, since she was Ladybug, and without Ladybug there was no way that Paris could be saved.
It wasn't the fact that Chat Noir was unable to fight by himself, but the fact that he would be unable to de-evilize the akumas, stopping Hawkmoth. She herself was not needed, just a person who was able to use the Ladybug miraculous, she had always felt like she was never going to be or become a good Ladybug. Even now she wasn't sure whether she was doing ok as the amazing superhero, or if she was failing.
