Cold water surrounded Lexi's skin. She knew her eyes were open, but she couldn't see a thing. She tried to scream. Nothing. Her mouth was gagged. She heard heavy foot steps coming closer, and felt a large hand on her shoulder.
"Relax, Lexi. It's not going to hurt. I'm going to be quick about it, ok? Just because you cooperated so well." Lexi had met her boyfriend on a weekday shift at the cafe about three years ago. They had moved in together a few months ago.
Before she knew what was happening, there was a sharp pain in her neck. The pain grew to an unspeakable volume. Then everything went black.

"Another murder? Seriously?" Dean rubbed his temples as he drove away from the crime scene.
"This thing's getting more agressive. I mean," Sam paused, "the guy goes nuts, kills his girlfriend, drives all the way to his house, kills his parents and younger sister, then kills himself. Two families in one night."
"Ash said this thing hasn't left this town. The thing's been here since those dumb-ass kids conjured it. They all got murdered the same way these guys are getting killed. Someone in the family goes nuts, kills everybody, then themselves."
"It doesn't make sense. Why hasn't it moved on?"
Dean shrugged, "Don't know. But we've got to figure out everything we can. Shane looks like she's been tracking the cases. Maybe she's found a pattern."
When they pulled up to the orphanage, Shane was sitting on the front porch, sketching something. She looked up as they climbed out of their car and set her notepad down.
"Figured you guys would be here early. After what happened last night..." Shane looked at the front door, as if she was worried she was being watched.
"Mrs. Kendric isn't too happy with me right now. It'd probably be better if we talked outside."
Dean nodded, and Shane got up to lead the way into the back yard.
"I was looking at the clippings from the older cases and," She paused as she sat beside the massive oak, "I noticed something."
"Sam raised his eyebrow, "What?"
"All of them were around one area of town." Shane pulled out her sketch pad and flipped to a mock map. "See, I looked back over all the cases and it looks like every house, appartment, condo whatever is fanning out from one place, " she pointed to a spot on the page. "This house."
"What's so special about that house?"
"I wondered the same thing. So I did a little digging about that conjuring you mentioned, Sam, and-" She flipped a few pages, "One of the kids who helped conjure this thing lived there. She was the first victim too."
Dean and Sam shot each other a questioning glance.
"You guys think that has anything to do with this?"
Sam shrugged, "Maybe. Can't hurt to check it out."
"Awesome. I'll go grab my bag."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Dean stood up to block Shane's path. "Who said you're coming with us?"
"Who said I'm not?"
Dean crossed his arms and said nothing.
"Look, this thing tried to kill me. Killed my family, and has picked off a few of my friends. I have every right to know what's going on as you do." Shane mimicked Dean's pose/
"Fine," Sam smirked, "But you're going to have to do it our way."
Shane smiled. "Ok."
"Let's get going then."
