Chapter 57

[Bay's pov]

I woke up and felt for Marshall, but he wasn't in the bed. That was normal, he probably just went to work.

Except, it's Saturday.

I checked my phone, and sure enough, there was a text from him.

'From: Marsh<3- "Went out for coffee, I'll bring you back something. Be ready to go for a walk in 20 mins; it's a beautiful day!"

I smiled and got up, getting into the shower.

Over the past two years, we've been through a lot. We've fought, but we always come right back to each other again. For Halloween, Marshall had his family over, and we took Lynnie trick-or-treating. For Christmas, we went to Florida to see them, and I really felt that with them, I had a family.

I put on a blue dress with a white cardigan, along with my flats. I had just gotten ready, when Marshall came in the front door. I met him in the lounge, and smiled.

"Hey babe, I brought you a French Vanilla cappuccino, just the way you like it." He put it on the table, and I frowned.

"I actually like the caramel kind now, I won't drink that."

He blinked a couple of times, "oh, uh-" he started, but was cut off by my laughing.

"I'm kidding. You're so gullible!" I threw my arms around his neck and pressed my lips to his, and he chuckled.

"Well, you're a pretty good actress."

"Too bad I'm a photographer. . ." I smiled; it felt nice to finally say that and mean it. Two months ago, I had been assigned to take pictures of the Ohio River for National Geographic. Ever since, I've been getting offers from different agencies. I've photographed a few students for their senior pictures, and I've done a wedding, which was beautiful.

Once we had finished our drinks, we set out. It was a nice warm spring day; the flowers were out, the leaves were back, and everyone was outside. Marshall reached out for my hand, lacing our fingers together as we walked.

"You look beautiful today, by the way." He told me; I smiled and thanked him.

"You look great, too," I answered. He had on his skinny jeans with a white T-shirt, and his hair was pushed back in the front.

After a while, we passed the Apple store. My free hand found the necklace that I always wore; the one he gave me. He noticed and grinned, pulling my hand up and kissing my knuckles.

As soon as we passed it, he grabbed a woman that was walking by.

"Diana?" I asked; I knew that red hair anywhere. She stopped, and turned to hug me. She had a big smile on her face, as usual. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to take a picture of you two." She answered cooly, pulling out her phone.

"What for?" I asked, turning to Marshall.

He was on the ground.

On one knee, holding a ring.

My hands flew up to cover my mouth; I was smiling like an idiot.

"Bay, we've been through so, so much together. I still remember when you walked through those doors," he motioned to the store behind us, "I knew from that moment that you were the one. I still can't believe that I've met someone as wonderful as you; you're everything I've ever wanted and more. Will you marry me?"

I wiped tears from my eyes, and nodded. "Yes!" He stood up and connected our lips, my hands around his neck and his around my waist. I heard Diana squeal, and when we pulled away, Marshall slid the ring onto my finger. We were all grinning like mad, hugging each other. A small group of people I didn't know started to clap, causing us to laugh.

"You're mine." Marsh whispered; I nodded, still grinning.

"I'm yours."

Well, that's the last chapter! I know it's short, too, but here it is. Thank you all for reading and voting/commenting; you're so amazing! The epilogue will be out soon, and I hope you've all enjoyed this novel! I can't believe it's over. . . 😭
