La Tempestad(the Tempest)

Marianna helped her mom and aunt unpack and once she was through she had a quick shower,dressed in a knee length pencil skirt which a t shirt was tucked into it with a blazer. She looked so admirable, as always.
There was a knock on the door of her room.

“yes,come in". Lucia entered into the room as Mariana was putting on stiletto heels.

“daniel is here ana to take you to LA tempestad " Lucia said lowly.

“alright aunt,I'll be out in a sec"

Mariana said starring at herself in the mirror tying her hair in a messy bun. Lucia left without a reply and told Daniel Mariana was coming, she went into her room thinking of what Mariana had asked her,to know who her father is. Lucia felt sad knowing she couldn't tell Mariana what she what's to know without the permission of Graciela. She knew Graciela wouldn't agree to tell Mariana about her father so she didn't bother telling Graciela Mariana had asked her.

“here we are miss Mariana " Daniel announced as he parked the SUV at the parking lot of a very huge skyscraper which was LA tempestad. Mariana thought of how a fish distribution company would be this huge, how many floors were in this building?, she wondered.

Daniel got out of the car and opened the door for Mariana, she got down and mumbled a thank you smiling while Daniel took her bag out and jammed the door shut. Daniel gave her her bag and walked her to the huge,sliding door which led to the inside of the building, a large sign board which was brightly coloured was at the top of the building which spelt LA tempestad. There was a doorman at the door who greeted Mariana and ushered she and Daniel into the building. Daniel took her to the receptionist who knew who she was as she was the one who helped Mariana with her files for the job. Daniel told Mariana she could call if she needed to leave as he left her with the receptionist. Mariana felt a little awkward as all eyes were on her,the last floor which she was in was so busy as different workers passed buy in a hurry,some behind computers, some carrying boxes which she assumed to be filled with different species of fishes.

“hi miss Mariana, I'm Claire Brown, the receptionist of this floor, I suppose you are the new manager of this company ", the receptionist said with a welcoming smile.

“yes, I am Marianna", Mariana replied also smiling. The receptionist nodded and picked up her telephone and dialed a number.

Mariana couldn't help but admire her surrounding, the tiles were shiny and looked slippery, almost everything here were made of glass, there was a café at a corner which she supposed was for a coffee break. She was brought back to reality as Claire called her.

“mam,I'll take you to your office, then after that there would be a meeting in which every staff of this company will be in order for the owner of the company to introduce you as the manager", Claire said leaving behind her beautiful desk which was made of furnished wood and a pretty chair.
“this way". Mariana followed her into an elevator and watched her punch 79, as the elevator started moving up,Mariana eyes grew wide and Claire noticed this.

“you look surprised mam", Claire said trying to hide her laughter. “ we have a hundred floors in this building in which all has its different purpose.

“wow,this is so....I'm speechless", Mariana replied even shocker than before. This journey to the 79th floor seemed like forever as Mariana mentally groaned. Claire kept telling Mariana how great it is to work at LA tempestad especially as a branch manager. Ding. At last,they were here.
Claire came out first as Mariana followed behind, this floor was as pretty and organised and rowdy as that of the first floor. Mariana kept following Claire as she entered into a very fancy office which had a glass desk, a chair behind it and two chairs in front of it.

There was a coffee machine at a corner , a water dispenser at that same corner, the office was beautifully furnished, there was also a couch at the left side of the large office with pillows of suiting colors on it, the walls were decorated with wall papers of nature, there was also a flat screen television set on the wall opposite the desk with a decoder and a remote placed on the decoder, a wireless telephone was placed at the left side of the large glass desk with an HP laptop at the right aide of the desk,there was also an iPad on the closed laptop which had all the details of the company. Mariana loved this, “this is my dream office ", she thought and chuckled unconsciously as Claire looked at her weirdly. Claire cleared her throat and began talking.

“this is your office mam, the device on your desk already has the details of the activities that goes on in this company, we also have an accountant which is in charge of the money which goes in and out of the company but as you are the manager, you will have to see through that before the accountant records the sales.", Mariana sat behind her desk as Claire sat on one of the chairs in front of her so she could explain things to her.

"Also ,you are in charge of the ship and her crew,there is a captain of the ship which will also answer to you but he also has his life to live as he doesn't stay in the company but sails to fish with his crew only when it is needed to fish,that is their job,to provide the best of fishes" with that Claire stood waiting for Mariana to respond.

“so you're saying this company owns a ship which is used for fishing at the sea,what sea exactly cause I don't remember seeing a sea on my way here Claire ", Mariana said amused.
“there is a sea at the northern boarders of San Francisco mam, that is where we get the fish we trade in, the owner will explain better mam", Claire said respectfully.

“please can you stop with the mam, call me Mariana instead", Mariana said to Claire in a calm manner.

“besides,you must be older than me,I'm only 21 for heaven's sake", Mariana said inwardly.

“alright ma...sorry,Mariana", they chuckled together.

“i think we'll be great friends", Mariana said as Claire turned d to leave.

“i think so too", Claire said smiling.
