At the dining room,the trio were having dinner prepared by Lucia. Marianna hadn't told her mom she had resigned and she hasn't even told her aunt about the incident that happened to her and iris. Marianna clears her throat, “mom..." , “yes love" ,...“ I didn't tell you this earlier because of your health , I've resigned from harp, I'm no longer working there", Mariana said looking at her aunt to see her reaction but she was surprised as her aunt didn't look shocked because she didn't tell her about the incident.

Graciela just nodded and told her everything would be alright. “ Ana, Graciela had informed me about this the day you told her , I just didn't want to tell you I knew until you were ready to tell me, reasons best known to you, but you do realize you are jobless right?" Lucia asked in a serious tone.

“yes aunt, I know and I'm going to start searching for a new job that pays well in order to support my mom". Graciela just stared at both her sister and daughter speechless because she didn't want to be a burden to any of them once they find out how terribly sick she is with a throat cancer. Yes, cancer, she had known she was sick a long time ago but didn't reveal it to anyone , when the tests were carried out on her, it was discovered that she had cancer but begged the doctor not to tell anyone when she became conscious, doctor Alexander had to comply to his patient's request but asked to be her personal doctor since only him knew of the sickness so he could look after her and prolong her days a little with his prescriptions and treatment.

“Graciela why aren't you saying anything about this case, Marianna has to seek for a job in order to take care of you , all you have to do is rest so you won't fall sick again" Lucia said as she noticed Graciela was lost in thoughts. Marianna stood up and cleared the table,went to the kitchen to do the dishes.

“uhm...Luci I don't know what to say, but I'll surely help Mariana find a good job , I don't want to be selfish and let both of you do all the work all because of me, I'll also seek for a job to support ". “oh no you're not mom" Mariana walked into the dining room looking worried.

“how could you say that,the doctor said you are stressed and you still wanna work?no way mom, I won't allow that, i Want you alive for me, please"

Mariana said feeling sober. Graciela was so sad knowing she would not live long enough to see her beautiful darling become successful because she was a determined lady. “see what you have done Graciela, you want this poor girl to cry all because you feel you are being selfish, you won't work and that's that"Lucia said hugging Mariana who was still trying to control her tears.

Graciela couldn't do anything anymore because once her sister has said something which somehow makes sense, she had to comply in order not to hurt them.
