“Alright, this office is way cool,my own personal space", Marianna said to herself smiling when Claire left her office. She picked up her phone and dialled her mom's number but she wasn't picking the calls, she frowned trying again but still there was no answer.
“i hope all is well", she said groaning. She then decided to call her aunt instead and luckily Lucia picked.
“anna dear, how's work?", Lucia asked curiously, “great aunt, this place is so lovely... I tried calling mom but she wasn't picking ", Marianna said nervously hoping nothing was wrong with her mom again.
“yh, Graciela is asleep, you know she isn't feeling too well so she decided to take a nap, don't bother worrying dear, she's fine", Lucia replied with confidence and Marianna noticed it and smiled to herself knowing her mother was in safe hands. “thats great aunt, I gotta go, I have a meeting in five minutes ”.
Alright love, I'll tell your mom you called when she's awake, bye".
“bye aunt".
As soon as she ended the call,there was a call from Claire from the telephone on her desk.
“hello Claire, what's up" Marianna asked casually like she had known Claire for a long time.
“its time for the meeting, and the board room is on floor 50 and the staff are already there so its you we are waiting for, hurry", Claire said nervously.
“jeez, I lost track of time,I'll be there soon", Marianna said dropping the telephone, took her phone and ran out of the office into the elevator and she got to the conference hall in no time,phew.
“im so sorry I'm late ", she said feeling embarrassed as all eyes were on her.
“its OK,take your seat", a young man who isn't more than thirty years old replied her,he was seating on the chair of the boss, he was so hot, with spiky dirty brown hair, those brown eyes, and a perfect jawline that can make any woman trip for him, his muscles could be seen through his expensive white t shirt which he folded the sleeves with a grey tie and grey pants. He was perfect.
Marianna hadn't realize she was still staring at him until Claire cleared her throat and signaled to her to seat at the far end of the large, glassy conference table which looked like the position for a manager.
“good afternoon ladies and gent ", the brown eyes man stood addressing the audience before him...“as you all know, I am Alejandro Mendoza, the son of sir Mendoza, the owner of LA tempestad, and as you also know, I am the one inspecting this particular branch here in San Francisco", he said with so much pride,Marianna thought he was being proud which was true, she wasn't all that fazed about him again cause of the wat he spoke, pride dancing all over him...“we now have a manager of this branch as I am just to inspect and receive reports of the goings here, and the manager of this branch is miss Marianna , may you please show us yourself so we can know you ?".
Mariana felt awkward as she stood up but tried to hide it.
“good afternoon everyone, I am Mariana Miguel and I am the branch manager of this company and I hope we can all work together in peace to bring about the success of this company, thank you", she felt free and happy as hands were clapped together for her while taking her seat.
“so work begins Mariana and we have a captain of the ship at the sea port and I would want you to meet him and call the orders , Claire will invite him over to your office so you guys can discuss on the next delivery, I won't be coming here frequently so I need reports from you thrice a week".
Alejandro spoke gently to everyone's surprise and dismissed the meeting.
“mariana should I call for the captain now or later?", Claire asked Mariana as they entered her office,
“yeah,sure,I'll be waiting ", “alright then,byee".
