Chapter 1: Hello, friend

Elliot's POV

Hello, friend.
Hello friend? That's lame.
I should give you a name one day.

But that's not important right now.
What's important is that I'm talking to an imaginary person. Am I crazy? No one does that, right?

Anyway. Now that we're friends, I'm going to tell you about myself. If that's what friends do..

My name is Elliot Alderson, I'm 17 years old and I have switched schools recently, because I had problems concentrating in my old one. According to my teachers I was daydreaming.
According to me?
I don't just daydream.
I have visions.
Visions of me saving the world.
At least I think they are.
Maybe I even 'hope' that a little bit.

But I don't want to talk about that with you yet, we barely know each other. Let's talk about something else.

I have been diagnosed with clinical depression and social anxiety about 2 years ago. Makes it impossible for me to talk to people. And therefore very hard to make real friends. But let's see how that works out tomorrow, if I'll be the silent kid in the corner of the room or that one friend in the group that doesn't have to speak but still gets admired by everyone. I'm putting my bets on the first. Not just because It's more likely to happen, but because I'm pretty sure that'd be easier to handle too. I'm not the social type. I usually only listen to what people have to say, but I forget some of that pretty quickly, because I think most of the stuff they're saying is bullshit. But they're only human, so I they can't help it. They can't help talking bullshit to each other and the listeners can't help but accept it the way it seems to them. Information... Yeah right.

It's almost 3 am, I should try to sleep a little. Big day tomorrow. I can't guarantee that I'll find time to talk to you. At least you wouldn't have to listen to me complaining about how lonely I am.
