Elliot's POV

Hi, I'm back.
The dinner went okay.
Mom asked me how school was. Darlene was quiet.
A typical evening in the Alderson family.
Except mom wasn't drunk already.
So she didn't yell at and didn't hit us.
That's an improvement.

It takes me a while to fall asleep.
I'm glad it happened though.

Goodnight, Friend.

I'm standing on a road. I don't see anyone else. I start walking. As I walk further, I notice something. The grass on the edge of the road is indigo-blue. Not green. Green is missing again? What does this mean?

I continue to walk. I see a rainbow on the way. But as I noticed with the grass before, there's no green in the rainbow either. Now how does that fit?
Nothing of this makes sense...

More walking.
I come across a building. A very large apartment, so it seems. It has a big balcony with a lot of greens on it. Except they aren't green. They're the same indigo-blue as the grass earlier.
I step closer.
All of a sudden the house starts to burn. I see a person running out.
I can't tell who it is.
The person is also burning.
They fall on the ground,
suffering and screaming for help.
I can't move.
"ELLIOT! HELP ME! I'M DYING!"
It's painful to watch. I'm afraid. I'm starting to cry.
I want to help them, but I can't.

"Elliot?"
I open my eyes. It's Darlene.
She's sitting on my bed.
"Wh-what are you doing?"
"I wanted to wish you a good night,
but you were sweating and shifting the entire time, so I'm assuming you had a nightmare."
I'm relieved. I couldn't have gone through that much longer.
"Th-thank you..."
"Yeah, no sweat."
I look at her.
".....No pun intended."
I nod. I don't know what to say.
"Oh well, goodnight then," Darlene says, while getting up.
"Goodnight."
She closes the door.
I'm not going to lock it this time.
