Elliot's POV

Lessons. People telling you to remember certain things, even though you'll never need them again. And for what price? A piece of paper which tricks you into thinking you're capable of doing anything. Man, I didn't miss school.

Everybody's getting their colouring sets ready, waiting for further instructions from Mr. Irving. I don't have anything like that yet, because I forgot to buy that stuff.

I look over to Leon. He's already painting. "Pst, can you tell the person next to you to tell Leon to come over here?" I whisper to the girl sitting next to me. The girl looks at me confused. She gets up. I observe what's happening. She's going to Leon directly. Fuck, now that I think about it, I could've just asked her to get Leon and not try to start a game of 'Chinese whispers'. Goddamn, this feels awkward and uncomfortable.

I lay my arms on the table and rest my head on my arms. This feels comfortable. I close my eyes for a second. It feels like everything is going so much slower now. It feels like I have enough time. For everything....

I feel someone tapping on my shoulder. I look up. It's Leon.
"What's up, cuz?" he asks.
"U-um.."
He's listening.
"C-can you get me the painting stuff please? I-I don't feel comfortable moving around, because everyone will stare at me..."
"Sure thing, cuz" Leon says, making his way to the shelves.
I'm letting out a big relieved sigh.
I look down to my fingers. All nibbled up. I feel like this isn't going to change anytime soon.

He's back.
I look through the colours.
"Green is missing though" Leon says. Wait, that reminds me of something...
I'll get back to that later, when Leon's back at his place.
"That's okay, I know how to make that" I tell him, trying to tell him to leave subconsciously.
"A'right, imma go then."
I nod, looking at the table and assembling the colours.
Leon nods too.
"See ya around, cuz" he tells me, before turning around and leaving.

Now we have time to talk.
I never told you what I saw in that dream, did I?
No green.
Just like right here, right now.
Could that be a sign? But for what? And who was that person holding my hand before Darlene woke me up?
I didn't see their face. I'm assuming it's a he, if I remember the voice correctly. He was wearing a button-up shirt. That's all I got. I don't even remember if it had a colour.
And his hand...

Shit, I'm spacing out. I have to get back to work.

Talk to you later, friend.
