A Blessing in Disguise

Prologue

"E-ethan, I'm p-pregnant... And you're the father." Rhina said while tears are streaming down her face.

Ethan looked at her with shock and fear written in his face. He doesn't know what to say.

"N-no, No! I don't believe you. How come?" Ethan protested.

"Malaki ang posibilidad na mabuntis ako Ethan. You didn't use protection! And now, here it is! What should we do? Natatakot ako Ethan." Rhina said while sobbing loudly. There were so many thoughts going through her mind.

Halo halo na ang emosyong nararamdam niya. She was scared, disappointed and ashamed. Nahihiya siya sa sarili niya at sa sasabihin ng ibang tao.

"What about Ciara? She will get mad at me. She's my girlfriend for pete's sake! I can't lose her." Ethan said while pacing back and forth. His hands are trembling and fear is consuming him at the moment, worried that her girlfriend would be mad and might leave him.

"But what about me? Paano naman itong batang dinadala ko? Paano naman itong anak mo?" Rhina asked Ethan.

"I-im sorry Rhina. I'm so sorry. But I can't leave Ciara like that. I love her, and I can't lose her." Those words from the man she love were like daggers sending to her heart. Sinubukan nitong lumapit sa kaniya subalit umiwas ang dalaga.

"Huwag kang mag alala, I will support the baby needs throughout your pregnancy. Pero hindi ko kayang panagutan ka, patawarin mo k--"

Hindi na natapos ni Ethan ang sasabihin niya sapagkat lumapat na sa kanyang pisngi ang palad ni Rhina. She slapped him. Hard.

"How dare you do this to me Ethan?!" Rhina asked while crying. The guy just stood there with his head low, staring at the ground. Tears also started to swell in his eyes.

"Kung hindi mo rin naman ako pananagutan mas mabuti pang huwag mo na rin suportahan ang anak mo! Kaya kong buhayin ang anak ko ng mag isa! Hindi ko kailangan ng pera mo..." Huminga ng malalim ang dalaga sabay ng pagtulo ng luha sa kaniyang mga mata.

"I guess it's enough. If you can't support me, then let's end this. I will support my child alone. And I won't let you be part of his life. He doesn't deserve a coward father. Good bye Ethan." Rhina said. She wiped her tears and immediately leave Ethan's condo.

Leaving the man whom she gave her all. The man whom he loves. Leaving the father of her child.
