The Kiss (Brix and Mia's Story)

Chapter 10

Mia was trying to avoid seeing Brix after the party at his parent's house. Pagkahatid niya Mia, she programmed her phone to where she assigned a special ringtone for Brix . Now she  will know when he is calling or messaging her so she could ignore both Brix's call and text.

She could not believe what happened at the party. Hindi lang siya na embarrassed sa parents nito, napilitan pa siyang mag say yes sa mga kaibigan niya to spend overnight at the yacht.

She doesn't want to think about it right now or she will just stressed out. What happened, happened already so she needs to just let this go. She sighed. I'm sure I can find a way to back out on that trip. Mia was tired. Saka ko na po-problemahin what to tell them, she thought. She stripped her clothes off and went to the shower.

Mia was in her clinic. She was getting ready to go home when she heard a knock on her door. " Come in,"she said while getting her bag.

" Are you ready,Babe?" is what she heard. Mia didn't  need to turn to know who it is. She went ahead and took her bag. But before she she could put it on her shoulder, a hand reached for it trying to take it from her.

Mia looked up and was face to face with a smiling Brix, freshly showered and smelled so good as usual.

" I can carry my bag," supladang sabi nito kay Brix tugging her bag but Brix was quick to get it .Nabitawan niya ang bag and now, Brix was holding it.

Brix continue to smile na parang wala lang still holding Mia's bag and move it on his other hand away from Mia." I know Babe. But I also know that you are too tired right now. So why don't I help you carry it. I might as well, right? Nandito na rin lang ako eh. Use and abuse me,"nakakalokong sagot pa nito at tuluyang kinuha ang bag ni Mia.

"Give me my bag,"sabi ni Mia na pilit inaagaw kayBrix. Mia's bag was still out her reach. He raised his arm above his head para hindi maabot ni Mia. But she wont give up either and was still trying to reach for it. Brix continue to raise it above his head.

She did not realize how close her face was to Brix until he kissed her on the tip of her nose. She was surprised. Napahinto si Mia ng pag-abot ng bag sa gulat nito.

"The next kiss will be on your lips,"Brix said softly but smiling down at her.

Mia did not move for a few seconds still surprised. Then she started to move back to give space between her and Brix.

"Shall we?" tanong ni Brix casually.

Mia frowned, took a deep breath. She knows when to stop and started walking to the door. Brix opened the door so she could go out and then he followed.

Binigay ni Brix ang bag ni Mia nang nasa harap na sila ng kotse ni Mia." I need your keys Babe so I can drive your car,"casual na sabi nito.

Kinuha ni Mia ang bag niya na nakasimangot." Why dont you drive your own car?"nagmamaktol na sabi nito.

Brix just smiled and waited." I can drive my car but I still need your car keys and we have to wait for Liam to pick up your keys " sagot lang nito.
Napakunot ang noo ni Mia. " Why? " inis na tanong nito.
" So they can pick up you car, silly,"nakangiting sagot nito."Then bring to your condo."
Mia looked at him incredulously then shake her head as tried to look for her car keys. Nong nakita na niya ay binigay niya ito kay Brix.
" Thanks Babe ," as he press the button to unlock the car. Dali Dali itong pumunta sa passenger side and open the door for Mia.
Seems like kahit anong gawin niya, cool Lang si Brix and he has reasons or explanation for everything.
Walang nagawa si Mia but to get in the car. Brix close her door and went to the driver's side.

Mia was sitting in the couch with Brix in her living room. They were eating Thai food. Nagpadeliver si Brix sa condo ni Mia.
Part of Mia was grateful that she didn't have to rummage her fridge or pantry for food. May pakinabang din naman ito minsan si Brix, she thought while eating her food.
"Babe, are you working Saturday? Where am I picking you up?"tanong ni Brix.
She hesitated answering dahil ayaw nga niyang sumama. She was trying to think of an excuse.
Nahalata ito ni Brix. He stopped eating and looked at her.
"I hope you are not thinking of backing out,"Sabi ni Brix."Dahil pag nalaman ni Caleb at Liam yan, They will pick you up to make sure you come. Hindi nagbibiro ang mga yon."
" Hindi nila malalaman yon if you won't tell them,"sagot naman ni Mia

"Babe, I don't have to tell them but then they will bug me,"sagot ni Brix." Besides, they will know because if you are not going, then I'm not going ."

Napahinto ng kain si Mia." Why? Why won't you go? If sumama ka sa kanila, then they won't care if I go or not." sabi nito.
" Because I don't want to go if you won't come. As simple as that," casual na sagot ni Brix who hasn't stopped eating." And just FYI, it is not just me na gusto nilang makasama. It's you as well. That's why they asked you to come. Believe me ..... those guys won't ask you it they don't want you even if you're with me ."
    She was stunned with that revelation." R-really?" she hesitantly asked.
   " Yup and they can be very blunt about it," he answered casually, still eating his food.
     She stopped eating and just sat there thinking. I really don't want to go. I don't want to give Brix and his friends an idea that they might end up as a couple.
  Napansin Siya ni Brix na huminto sa pagkain and was in deep thought.
   " Babe , give it up. Give up the idea of saying no,"Sabi ni Brix." You might as well forget finding excuses to avoid this."
     She sighed. She knows she is defeated. Because why did I have to say yes. Now I can back out. Maybe I can not just show........
    " Don't even think of not showing up either. They will really come and pick you up in your clinic," dagdag ni Brix as if reading her mind.
    " Fine!" 

She gave up and started eating again. She didn't see Brix smiled .

The yacht was breathtaking!  Mia at this point was thrilled that she came. Sila na lang ang hinihintay ng mga ito. The yacht has 3 decks, right now everybody was in the upper deck where the jacuzzi is.

  "Brix, let me show you where to put the bags,"sabi Liam." Mia, sorry but you have to share the room with Brix. Im sure that would not be a problem,right?" And winked at Mia.

" And I am sure that this was not planned, right?"sagot naman ni Mia that made the group laughed.

" See, this is why I like you," Liam teased." I'll give these guys a tour, Honey,"sabi nito kay Freya.

" Mia, come and join us. Hayaan mo na ang mga yan,"sabi ni  Freya. " Boys and their toys....." she said while the guys started walking away.

   Lumapit si Mia sa kanila sa couch. Kathleen scooted to give space for Mia. Pinaupo ni kathleeen si Mia sa tabi niya. Binigyan agad ni kathleen si Mia ng Mai Tai. Inabot naman nito ang glass.

      " Long day?' tanong ni Kathleen sa kay Mia smiling.                                                                                          

     For unknown reason, she feels at ease with these girls. Akala ni Mia ay  magiging awkard and next meeting nila. "Yeah, nagbakasyon kasi ako eh, just  for 3 days,  a month a ago. Pero ang mga ibang patients kasi hinintay na bumalik ako. Ayaw na magpa check-up sa reliever ko,"sabi ni Mia and sipped her Mai Tai.

   " Now, it's time to relax,"sabi ni Freya, " As we leave the port, leave everything and just relax and have fun. You are officially off the clock. your job now it to enjoy."

Napangiti si Mia. "I intend to,"sabi ni Mia." This is an amazing yacht. Must cost Liam a fortune,"dagdag niya . She was admiring how exquisite the yatch is .

" You have no idea,"sabi ni Freya and rolled her eyes. "But I couldn't stop him from buying it."

   " Well, now at least we get to use it so, let's enjoy this yacht para sulit ang bili ni Lee dito,"sabi ni Zoey.

   " Yes, we have to use it as much as we can. Sayang lang ang bili niya nito if it will just stay at the dock,"sagot ni Freya.

     Kathleen's face brightened."You what? We can do this every month or every other month. Double purpose, sulit a use natin sa yatch, makaka unwind pa tayo. What do you ladies think?"

   Zoey and Freya were ecstatic."That would be perfect,"sabi ni Freya,"Im sure that would not be  problem with Lee. Leave it to me."

    "Mia, that includes you. If it is a problem with your schedule, let us know and we can work around it,"sabi ni Zoe kay Mia.

   Magsasalita pa sana si Mia but Kathleen cut her off." And dont you dare say no. Dont say you are busy. We are expecting you to come," sabi pa nito.

Hindi na nakapagsalita si Mia. Napangiti na lang ito  while shaking her head.
