The Kiss (Brix and Mia's Story)

Chapter 25

           Nasa bahay si Mia at nagpapahinga. She is still miserable because of what had happened to her and Brix but she has to tough it out. Her patients' lives depended on her so wala siyang choice but to force herself to move on. Nanonood siya ng movie when she heard the phone rang.
" Hello?"
" Hello, Mia?" tanong sa kabila.
" Yes, this is Mia," sagot niya.
" Mia, this is your Tita Cindy," sabi ni Mrs Williams." Iha, sorry to call you but it's your Tito Archie again."
She was alert now." What's wrong Tita? Is he okay? Nag chest na naman ba siya?"
"No, not chest pain....... Well, he is not feeling quite right but he doesn't want to go to the hospital. I was wondering if you can see him....... it's okay if u can't........ but he really trust you and nobody else.....ummmm...... I am sorry" paputol putol na sabi nito.
" Tita , you don't have to apologize. I can certainly see him. Pupunta na ako diyan sa bahay ninyo," sabi ni Mia.
" Ummmm Mia, we are not in the house. We are in Vigan," sabi ni Mrs Williams. " I wanted to see this place called Vitalis . We have been to Santorini before in Greece and somebody told us of this place so we decided to go here. Na curious kasi ako. Napagod yata ang Tito Archie mo so he started feeling fatigue."
" I know where that place is but if he really feels bad Tita , he need to go to the hospital now," sabi ni Mia.
" I don't think it is that bad but we would appreciate it if you could come," sabi nito.
" Of course, of course. Let me just pack a bag quickly in case I'm not able to get back right away," sabi ni Mia.
" Thank you so much Mia. You are a blessing, Love," sabi ni Mrs Williams and gave her the room number.
Dali daling nag-impake ng bag si Mia and brought her medical bag and some few medicine samples just in case. And then went to her car and drove to Vigan.It took her almost 7 hours to get there because of traffic. She prayed that his condition is not that serious, that he is not having another heart attack.

        When she got there, she asked for the villa where they were staying. The front desk gave her a key saying that it was the instruction of Mrs Williams. She didn't question and went directly there.
          She opened the door to the villa went in and called for Mrs. Williams. It was a 3 bedroom villa with a private pool. Mia started going from room to room but nobody was there. Inisip niya na baka nagkamali si Tita Cindy ng pagbigay ng room number. But she thought, the front desk gave me the key to this place.
            Lalabas na sana siya sa pintuan when it opened and Brix went inside. Both of them were shocked to see each other.

" Is Dad, okay?" tanong ni Brix sa kanya. This is the first time he had talked to her.

     Mia had set aside their personal problem dahil worried din siya sa Tito Archie niya. " They're not here. I was confused. I thought maybe nagkamali si Tita ng room number but....... did they call you too?"tanong ni Mia.
         Tumango si Brix." Sabi ni Mommy, Dad isn't feeling good and she wanted me to pick them up here," sabi ni Brix na nalilito." So I rushed here."
             " I looked in every room pero wala namang mga gamit........."

            Then Mia slowly realized what is happening. Tito Archie and Tita Cindy planned this. They called them both so they could meet here.

               Mia smiled weakly." I think we both got tricked para pumunta dito," she said. Mia could not get mad at them. She knows that they had good intentions for doing this. She sighed and shook her head. " Well, I gotta get going. Baka ma traffic ako pabalik." She paused and added," You should stay, I think this villa is already paid for and this is a nice place. This is where I went on my last vacation."
        Brix didn't say anything and did not move from where he is standing. Mia stopped talking and headed towards the door. Brix blocked her way.
         " Who was the guy in your office?" he hoarsely asked.
          Mia looked at him  shocked. "What did you just asked me? " she said trying to calm her voice." You know what. It doesn't matter anymore who he is," sabi ni Mia and tried to get to the door but Brix blocked her way.
