The Kiss (Brix and Mia's Story)

Mia's phone kept of buzzing, Hinalungkat niya ang bag for her phone.The call end. She looked at the phone. Brix had been calling. Six missed call. She went ahead and sent a text to him na kung nasaan siya at kung sino ang kasama niya.
Napansin ito ni Melissa. Nothing escapes Melissa's eyes.
"Mia,is the hospital calling you? Do you need to leave?"tanong ni Melissa concerned.

" No it's just Brix.I've sent him the text na that I'm here with you guys,"sabi ni Mia na hindi na realize kung anong sinabi niya sa mga kaibigan while busy texting Brix.
  She didn't see her friends looked at each other , curious.

Hindi na pigilan ni Krista ang sarili ." Brix?"tanong ni Krista.

"Brix? Brix who? Brix Williams?" sunod sunod na tanong ni Aria.

" One and only. I don't think she knows somebody else na Brix rin Ang name ,"tili ni Krista." Are you guys together now, as in?"

" How come I didn't know about this?'tanong ni Leila. So like Leila to set aside her problem.."What's going on with you and Brix?"

Mia's face turned red as she realized what had happened. Now she doesn't have a choice but to tell them. Mia let out a deep breath. Sinimulan ni Mia na ikwento ang encounter nila sa hospital with Brix again hanggang sa recent event. No details spared. She trusted these friends, they have been through and shared a lot of happy and tragic times.

Nagtilian ang mga ito na pati yong mga katabing table nila ay nagkatingin sa kanila but they didn't care.

"Oh my god! Who would have thought! I am so happy for you Mia,"sabi ni Aria.

"So am I,"sabi ni Leila who genuinely smiled at her and hug her.

" Kelan naman namin ma me-meet si Brix up close and personal?"tanong ni Melissa."O baka naman for your eyes only lang siya."

"Your silly,"sabi ni Mia." He wants to meet all of you too. I'll ask him.......but....but I am scared though."

" Mia, you love Brix. We can tell. Give it a chance, honey,'sabi ni Leila. "Look at what is happening to me. I will never have the chance to be with any guy that I will love because I am going to be tied up with God knows who. But you, Brix loves you and you love him. Do you know how lucky you are . All of you. You guys get to choose the guy. Hindi mo kayang e-predict ang mangyayari. Halimbawa mang masaktan ka later, that is part of life. You have to gamble or you will never be happy."

"Tama si Leila, Mia," sang-ayon ni Melissa." Don't let love or opportunity passed you by because of fear."

She knows that she could count on these girls for anything. She know that these are the friends she has that will tell her whether she is doing the right thing or not regardless if it hurts.

" Honey, be happy. You really truly deserved it,'sabi ni Aria.

" .Give it a chance,'sabi uli ni Leila.

" Okay enough of our these,"sabi ni Krista." Let's just enjoy the night."

The girls wanted to meet Brix and so did he. Napagkasunduan nilang magmeet sa Ollie's bar. Barkada ng kapatid ni Melissa ang may-ari ng Ollie's Bar. Owen Santaniel with his wife, Caitlin.

      Pagdating ni Mia at Brix sa bar ay nakita nito si Ate Caitlin niya behind the bar. She is the best bartender in town. Tumuloy sila sa bar.

   "Ate Cat,"bati ni Mia.

   She looked from mixing drinks and smiled at them." Mia, hello! Wait let me, pour this drink and I will be right with you,"sabi nito. She took a glass and pour the cocktail she is mixing, served to one of the ladies in bar and went out.

   She went to where Mia and Brix were standing. Mia kissed and hugged her and so did she.

   "And who is this Hottie you're with?"tanong nitong nakangiti.

  Napangiti si Mia. Si Ate Catrin niya is so like her husband Owen. They both like to tease and sometimes no filter pag nagsasalita. Brix was grinning from ear to ear.

  " This is Brix, Ate Cat. Brix, this Ate Caitlin,"pakilala ni Mia.

" I'm her boyfriend,"dagdag pa nito and held out his hand for a handshake.

Caitlin kissed and hugged him instead. He was surprised but grinned and did the same.

"Welcome, welcome to Ollie's bar,"sabi pa nito." Melissa is at that last room to your right. She wanted a private party."

  "Where's Kuya Ollie, Ate Cat?"tanong ni Mia.

"He's somewhere here. I am not exactly sure where but I''ll have him come and see you later,"sabi ni Caitlin ."Enjoy, okay! Anything you need, let me know."

She was about to leave then stop, "By the way,Mia and Brix, are you guys coming to the opening night of Cat's Den, right?"tanong nito

Cat's Den is their new bar. They are having a pre-opening night for all their friends.

"Yes, Ate Cat. We will be there,"sabi ni Mia.She blew them a flying kiss and left.
      "Cat's Den?" Tanong ni Brix, confused.
       Mia stopped and looked at him. She touched his arm." Babe, sorry I forget to tell you. We were invited for the soft opening night at Ate Cat and Kuya Owen's new bar ,"she said sheepishly.
      Brix smiled and kissed her lightly on the lips." Don't worry Babe , it s okay .... I'll go wherever you go."

  Mia and Brix went to the room that Caitlin had told them. When they went in , Leila, Krista, Aria and Melissa were there. Mia introduced Brix to everybody. They all sat down and ordered their drinks.

   " Is any guys coming? Or I am it?"tanong ni Brix.

   "You're it,"sagot ni Krista."  Scared?"

    He just grinned." Nope. I wanted to meet all of you to thank you for bringing Mia to Gramercy Bar that night,"sabi nito and put his arm around her waist.

   "Yon talaga ang una mong sinabi, huh,"sabi ni Mia na tiningnan si Brix.

  "Well, yeah. The next one is, who do I take out to dinner for mentioning about the kiss?" he asked laughing.

"Babe!"saway ni Mia.

Tumawa ang mga ito including Brix." That's how you got my attention,"nakatawang sabi ni Brix.

"That would be me,"nakatawang sabi ni Krista.

"Kris, I owe you big time so tell how I can repay you,"sabi ni Brix.

"Brix, you are so awesome and so perfect for Mia. Just make sure that you don't make her cry,"sabi ni Melissa.

" We are so perfect together, right Babe ?""sabi nito and kiss Mia on the forehead." I will try my hardest not make her cry."

" Good enough for me,"sabi ni Aria smiling.

"Hey Brix, you are coming this Friday night, right?"tanong ni Melissa.

" Friday night?"he looked confused and looked at Mia.

"I just told him ,"sabi ni Mia."Remember Ate Cat's new bar."

Brix smiled."Yes she just told me about it before we got here. Of course, I'm coming. Where she goes, I go, sagot agad ni Brix.

"Don't you mind if we hitch a ride with you, all of us girls?"tanong ni Melissa.

"Of course not. It will be pleasure to take all of you beautiful ladies,"sagot ni Brix smiling.

Mia friends smiled. Sino nga ba ang hindi madadala sa charm nito? She smiled. And to think that this guy is head over heels sa kanya. Brix seems to be very at ease with her friends which is what Mia wants because these girls are the one of those most important people in her life.
     Brix fit right in with her friends. He wasn't even bothered that he is the only guy. The girls had asked him a lot of questions and he answered them patiently. After a few drinks, Brix and her friends seems like old friends. Mia was so happy seeing them.
