Chapter 9 Lisanna Cool It

       Two days later, Lisanna is not to happy.  She can not believe Natsu did not return her kiss!  She thought for sure she could lure him in so easily!  Why if she did not know any better he has his heart and mind set on someone else.  Ugh, how could he say he does not love Lucy?  It sure appears that way to Lisanna, especially since he could not take his eyes off her the other day.  Plus, today he ventures off with her again!   

     What could Natsu see in that blonde girl?  Lisanna reasons, Lucy is not even pretty.  Not in the least.  Why she is plain and dull as ever!  She is such a bore that everyone has bound to see knives sharper than her.  She dresses in clothes that are  not fashionable.  She wears her hair like a small child.  She can barely speak much to him.  She cries to much.  Why is she over  dramatic?   As if that really does much of anything!  

     Happy notices Lisanna has a wicked grin across her face once more.  He worries so much when she does this!  Why if he did not know any better she is up to something!  The thing is what is it she is up too?   Why?   What does it have to do with Natsu and Lucy?   Why does it make him feel uncomfortable?  He decides he must warn them.  He  has too before it is to late.  He believes it might even be a matter of life and death!

     Meanwhile, with Nalu...

         Natsu and Lucy are together on the beach. They are happy to be away from everyone else.  Well, the captain and his wife appear to be nearby.  Yet those two appear to be in a world of their own.  Natsu and Lucy need not worry they will have any trouble for them.  

       Natsu sees Lucy fall. He attempts to catch her, but instead misses.  He finds himself down in the sand.  He feels something beneath him.  He realizes it is Lucy!  He blushes a lot!  

          "Luce, I am sorry!  I did not mean to crush you."  Natsu says.

            "N-Natsu, it is okay, really!"  Lucy mutters.  She breaths a deep breath.  She wonders, why he does not move.  She stares into his eyes.  She wonders what he thinks about at this moment. 

           Natsu rolls off her and looks away in shame.  He thinks, why does she have to be so cute?  Why do I have to notice so much?  It is not like I like her, is it?   Could it be that I?  Nah!  He helps her up.

         Lucy thanks him.  She glances into his eyes in surprise.  She sees he has sadness, confusion and uncertainty in them.  She wishes she knew what to do.  She figures there is not a thing she can do though.  She sighs.  If only she could let him go.  Maybe, she should not have let him talk her into staying here longer.   She feels like that must be it.  It has to be why else is he so upset?  It has to be her fault.  

       "Luce, are you okay?"  Natsu ask.

      "I am not sure."  Lucy answers.

     "Not sure?   What?  why not?   Is it your leg, arm, what?"  Natsu says with concern in his voice.  He thinks, if she broke something, I will have to get her to the doctor.

       "It is not that nothing is broken."  Lucy says.

        "Oh, thank goodness!"  Natsu remarks. He holds her close. He does not kiss her just holds her gently in his arms.

        Lucy does say another word.  She closes her eyes. She rest her head against his chest and relaxes. She wishes they could be like this always.  Only, she believes it to be impossible!

       Back to Lisanna and Happy...

           Happy sneaks out of the hotel.  He goes outside and heads to the area where he thinks Natsu and Lucy might be.  Sure enough he sees them!  He hates to interrupt them as they look so cozy and in love!  However, he has to follow through with his plan!  How else will he insure that Lisanna does not do something rash to either of them?   He walks over to them and says,  "Natsu, Natsu!"
  

   "Happy, what are you doing here?  It is good to see you buddy, but is anything the matter?"  Natsu remarks.

      "It is funny you should ask this.  You see I think Lisanna is up to something!  She thinks I do not notice.  She can not stand Lucy and will do anything to take you away from her!  This worries me.  I do not want to see Miss Lucy hurt nor do I want you to  be hurt.  So, what do we do?"  Happy blurts out.

      "Happy, look I think you worry for nothing.  She knows now not to bother me.  She will not come around.  She will just do her on own thing and all will be well."  Natsu says.

        "Natsu!  I  came here to warn you and you do not believe me!  Why not?  I am your companion.  Good grief, just listen to me. "   Happy says.

         "Happy thanks, but I think I can keep Lucy safe just fine.  For that matter, you need not worry about me.   I will be fine too."  Natsu says.

         "Fine, suit yourself then."  Happy says.  He flies away to go find some food to eat, preferably some fish since he is cat and likes this more than anything else.

         Lisanna comes over to them a few minutes later with a smug  look on her face!  "oh, very touching Natsu, but do not you think you should just let her go?  She is nothing!  I am the one you need!  Come on be reasonable here!"  She shouts at him.

         Natsu glares at her!  " Lisanna, I will not stop being kind to her.  Why you are not the woman I thought you are!  You are rude, selfish, and alright horrid!   Just do yourself a favor, find some new friends because we are no longer friends.  No go!  Be gone!  I do not want you here! "

        "What you can not mean it?"  Lisanna remarks.

       "Oh, but I do.  I mean every word!  Lisanna Cool It!"  Natsu says.  He watches to see her walk away and thinks that is the end of it.

         Little does he know how wrong he is about this!
