Chapter 11 Shock of Our Lives?

        Natsu is out of it.  He has black outs often now. He is asleep.  Happy is next to his hospital bed in a chair.  He hopes his friend will pull through and be alright.  He thinks if Lucy were alive things would be brighter.  He can tell Natsu is in pain, shock and feels guilt since he was the one to survive while Lucy was the one to die.

         Meanwhile, with Lucy ...

             Lucy opens her eyes and takes a look around her.  She sees the blood all over her chest, arm and leg.  She remembers all that took place.  She does not see Natsu nearby, nor does she Lisanna.  She hears someone talk about her.  She can tell whoever it is thinks she is dead.  She is not though.  At least not yet anyway!

            "To bad about the girl though!  I can tell the man with the pink hair loves her!  It is a shame really.  To be so young and to die like this.  Well, I suppose we will have to call and notify her relatives that she is no longer with us."  One police officer says

           "Yeah, I agree.  She has so much life ahead of her!  Goodness, knows why that other woman, Lisanna Strauss, is it choose to attack her and murder her this way!  I suppose no one will ever know now.  It is not like the dead can speak."  The other police officer remarks.

          Lucy whinces from the pain. She thinks what will I do?  She sees a hat nearby. She rips it in half.  She uses part of it to stop the blood flow from her leg.  The other part she wraps around her chest.  There at least now she will not bleed to death!  Hopefully, anyway!  She can only sit still now and hope for a miracle!  She wonders how long she was out.  She thinks, to bad I can not speak.  She begins to believe that perhaps she will die anyway.  No, she has to survive!  She must so she can tell Natsu she loves him!  She needs to make it long enough to make sure he is okay. She is a fighter!  She will not give up!  She can not give up!  She must not give up!  She takes a small sigh of relief when someone comes closer to her.

         Wendy Marvel stumbles on a rock. She groans.  Ugh, why now?  She thinks.  She stands up, heals herself, then continues on past a few palm trees to the area where she hears a small whimper.  She can sense someone needs her  help.  She arrives a few minutes later to where Lucy lays on the ground.  She gasps when she sees the damage.  She goes to her!  She removes the funny object off the leg, she heals it, then she heals the arm too.  There she thinks, good as new!  She turns to go when she realizes Lucy has blood that gushes from her chest.  Oh, dear me!  This is bad!  I can not heal this.  I am too weak from where I  took care of the arm and leg.  Great!  What is wrong with me? 

        Wendy grabs up Lucy!  She carries her away from the beach!  She carries her the way she just came. She does not drop her.  She continues to hold on tight to this girl with the serious injury!  She sees the hospital sign in the distance.  Oh, thank goodness!  She runs now.  She takes her through the entrance and to the emergency room!

         "Look, I found her on the beach!  She appears to have been shot !  Please help her!  She is in serious condition!  She has blood from her chest!  Help her!  Please, help this girl !  You have to save her life!  I hear her mummer something about I need to talk to Natsu!  Whatever you do, do not let her die!  She is a fighter I can tell!  Now,  help please!"  Wendy pleads with the workers.

          The emergency staff gets right to work.  They give Lucy medicine to knock her out. They put ice and wraps around the wound. They slowly remove the bullet from her chest.  Then, they stitch it up. As more blood gushes out they wrap the area up more and more!  They do all they can for her!  This is all they can do!  Short of a miracle they conclude she has no chance of survival!  They hope for the best she makes it!  

          Lucy wakes up an hour later.  She looks around her in confusion.  She sees people in funny outfits and with tools. She looks them over carefully. She realizes these are doctors and nurses!  Wait, it is a hospital!  How on earth did she get here?  She looks down at her chest, sees the bandages and thinks, is the miracle I need?  Does this mean I am not dead?  Wow, I am alive!  Yes, I made it!

        "Hurry, I am not dead!"  Lucy says louder than she intends too.

          "Look, our patient is alive!  Wow, thank goodness!  It was touch and good for awhile there!  Lets get her to a room, shall we?"   One of the doctors says.

          "Sure, I will take care of it right away Doctor!"  A nurse who name tag reads Penny says.

             "Thanks, Penny!" The same doctor replies.

                Penny gentle carries Lucy to the hallway. She sets her down gently on a bed.  She pulls a blanket over her legs and feet. "There, now, I will help you to your room.  You poor dear!  I admit I thought you were a goner! You know you must be special to someone!"  Penny says.  She wheels Lucy into room 275.  It just so happens to be not far from where Natsu and Happy are at the moment.  In fact it is only two doors down!

               "Thank you, Nurse Penny!"  Lucy says.

             "Your welcome, dear!"  Nurse Penny remarks.

            "My name is Lucy Heartfilia.  Is there a Natsu Dragneel here?"  Lucy ask. She waits to see what Penny has to say about this.

            "Yes, there is!  Boy, will he be glad to see you!"  Penny says.  She goes to the nurses station and says,  "Will Natsu please report to the nurses station?"

               Happy hears the announcement.  "Natsu, wake up!  The nurse at the nurse station pages you.  Come on, lets see what she wants!"  Happy says.  He helps Natsu into a wheel chair and wheels him to the nurses station.

              "I am here now.  What do you want?  To give me your condolences, if that is all then you can forget it!" Natsu says angrily.

            "No, actually, I just meant to tell you a friend of yours ask for you in room 275.  You may go see her now.  Bye the way she is one fortunate girl to survive a wound like that you know!"  Nurse Penny says.

           Happy pushes the wheel chair with Natsu in it into  room 275.  He might as well see who it is that Nurse Penny speaks out.  His jaw drops as soon as he sees her!  No, way!  He thinks.  How is she here?

             Natsu sees her too and his jaw drops as well.  Lucy sees them enter the room and smiles. She thinks, it is so good to see Natsu and Happy again!  I am glad to see them! 

              "Natsu, why is your jaw down like this?  Happy yours too?"  Lucy remarks.

             "It is just you gave us the shock of our lives!"  Happy blurts out.

            "Happy here is right!  You see we were told you were dead."  Natsu says.

              "Hmm, that is odd!  I am too alive to be dead!  You see, I am not a ghost! It really is  me guys!"  Lucy teases them.

              "Luce, thank goodness! I am so glad you are alive."  Natsu says.

                "Yeah, he was so upset."  Happy remarks.

                "Natsu  it is okay!  I am glad to see you too!  You see, I  love you!"  Lucy says.

                "Luce, I need to tell you something too!"  Natsu says.

                   Happy smiles, exits the room and goes to find a soda.
