KY's POV

It's so weird. I come down for breakfast every morning and find Dad already in a conversation with Stuart. No more 'Good morning Ky' or 'You stayed up all night gaming again didn't you?'. Its always 'Morning' or 'breakfast is in the microwave'. What happened to the funny conversation we used to have? The jokes and talking about the sports? All but gone. Instead he is talking to Stuart. Don't get me wrong I am so happy for him, but...I feel left out now. But to fight is Friday. And that means movie night. Me and Dad always do a Friday Movie night, no exceptions (granted its a bit hard when he's away but y'know).

I hop down the stairs two at a time and run into the kitchen. I hold the DVD behind my back and smile.

'Hey dad!' I say.

'Hello Kydo! You alright?'

'Yeah. I have got something for you.' I smiled.

He gave me a look and I bounded up to him, thrusting the DVD into his hand. He puts his glasses on and studies it. I smile and shake him arm.

'It's that film you wanted! Into The Storm. We can watch it for our Movie Night!' I say excitedly.

'Perhaps...' He said, giving me a sly look as a joke. 'If we can have popcorn and a drink.' He added and I laugh.

Then, Stuart came into the room, holding bags of shopping. I can feel some of my smile fade. Dad's attention left me and focused on him. I sighed as he stood up and engaged in a conversation with Stuart, leaving me holding the DVD once again. I look down and leave the DVD on the table and run upstairs. I run straight into my bedroom, slam the door and leap onto my bed and grab a pillow. I hold the pillow close to my chest.

My eyes blur over, tears forming. I blink and they fall. I haven't done this since I left my true home, Sofia, Bulgaria. I haven't cried since then. This is something so petty to be crying over. But it's him. Stuart. I manage to get some time alone with Dad, just us two, and then he comes in and takes Dad away, leaving me alone again. Call me selfish, call me a daddy's girl but it hurts. This man, this stranger is replacing a mom I never had. I cry I to the pillow, causing my glasses to fall off and onto the bed.

I sob until my phone goes off. It's Martin. I dry my eyes, take a deep breath and answer.

'Hello?' I sniff quietly.

'Hey. It's Bodil.'

'I might be thick but I'm not that thick that I don't know my boyfriend's voice.' I say and he laughs.

'Anyways, I'm bored. Wondered if you wanna join me later on outside or round mine or whatever.' He said.

'Sounds good. But I'm not really in the mood.' I say, sighing.

'What's wrong. It's not the monthly is it.' He said.

'No! No. Things and stuff. Stuff and things my dear Martin.' I say and wipe my eyes again.

'You sure?'

'Pretty sure.' I smiled.

'You sound upset.'

'And you sound far too happy for your own good.' I say and he sighed.

'Hey I'll let ya go. You need me or change your mind, just call me Ok?' He said.

'Of course. I mean we all message on Skype throughout the night anyways.' I say.

'Alright. Love you Ky.'

'Love you to Martin.' I say and we end the call.

I lean back onto my bed and the door of my bedroom opens. Stuart is standing there. I put on a fake smile and sit up.

'Hi Stuart.' I say, a bit too flatly.

Stuart walks over to me, shutting the door behind him. 'Listen hard and listen good. Your dad doesn't have time for you now. We are busy and you are getting in the way. You might hate me and I couldn't care. But know this Ky...' He paused as he lent in closer. 'You have been replaced with me.' He spat as he left, slamming my door behind him.

I gasp and look to the floor. The tears well up again, falling thin and fast. I bury my head into the pillow in my arms, tears being consumed in the Pillow's casing. I cry for what felt like forever. But a plan hatched inside of my head. I cannot let Dad like someone who is gonna take him away from me. I am gonna show him what Stuart is really like. I'm going to protect him from himself...
