THIRD PERSON
After the somewhat embarrassing half time entertainment, the seven friends decided that rather than go home, they would loiter around in the city until they had to get back on the train. Three hours were spent in the city whilst a few more were spent in a lovely park with a fountain and a large river with several little stream that children can walk in.
Currently, Ky was sat with her feet in the clear, cold water of a stream, watching Bashur and Double have a water fight. Seeing them brought back great and happy memories of her friends back in Bulgaria. Often on a hot day, they would all do something similar to this. Her thoughts were disturbed by a minuscule wave of water droplet splatting all over her.
'Hey! I never asked to be in this water fight you know!' She laughed.
'Come on Kyzer! You brought spare clothes right?' Bashur said, wringing out his hair.
'Yeah. Like you said.' Ky replied.
'Then come on in!! You are missing out!' Simon squealed as Bodil kicked a wave of water on the sitting Simon.
Slowly pulling her backpack off her back, Ky stood up, the stream reaching past her ankles and touching her mid shin. This was one of the deeper streams connected to the river. Wading out slowly, she joined her friends, slowly adjusting to the water which was refreshing in the Californian sun.
Another few hours passed as they had a water fight until they stopped to get changed into dry clothes and -for Bodil and Ky- find a way to stop water drops marking their glasses. With their hair wet and begs containing wet clothes, they went back to the train station to catch a train. Only to find their train is cancelled and that they have been rescheduled for another train which went to a load of other stops before finally reaching their station.
This is going to be a fun trip, Baki has thought to himself, scanning the stops before theirs quickly. Oh well, I have my friends. But looks like we are gonna be back home late...
Everybody let their parents know about the hold up and change of plans before they set foot aboard the train once it had returned and the puff of smoke it churned out of it's firebox had cleared. After squeezing past the people hurrying to get out, they eventually found a seat to host seven people, including a chair. The car they were in was pretty much empty. Only a few people sat scattered around but they were hooked on their music or watching something on their phone or laptop or tablet.
Sitting down, Baki helped put some of the wettest bags next to the wall to stop them from soaking everybody's feet. Leaning back into the chair, the train whistled and began chugging slowly to life from the standstill.
'What an amazing day!' Baki smiled and drank some water.
'Yeah! Today was kick ass!' Bashur replied.
Simon was about to say something when the jaunty tune of his ringtone sounded. Quickly answering it, Simon begged that it wasn't his dad having a go at him for being home late. (Simon, Simon's dad)
Hello?
Hey Simon. It's me.
Hi dad.
I was talking to your friends' parents about them staying round for the night. We are the closest and it saves everybody driving round. They said yes.
That's awesome! Thanks dad.
But I don't know about that young girl of yours. The one that you said was-
Ok. I will ask her and let you know!
Alright. Bye,
Bye.
Shoving his phone away in his short pocket, Simon sighed quickly.
'What was that about?' Ghost asks.
'Dad said you guys can stay around tonight. He said if you ask you are more than welcome to stay as well Ky. Dad would sort it out but he doesn't have your dads number.' Simon says and Ky nods.
'Alright. Let me text Dad quickly.' Ky said as she texted her Dad.
A few moments later, he replied with a confirming yes. Now that that was arranged, the remainder of the train journey consisted of nothing more than talking and joking. It was by the final stretch of the train ride from the second to last station every one was getting sleepy. Once they arrived at their station, everybody left the train. It was now nearly 10pm and everybody was ever so slightly tired. Simon limply lead the way home and walked inside. Ky shoved her hands in her pockets and followed everybody into the living room where she saw Simon's parents.
They greeted everybody and noticed Ky almost straight away. Ky begged for it not to be another Baki's house, although his parents were lovely.
'And you must be Ky. Great to finally meet you.' Simon's dad greeted cheerfully, standing next to simon. Ky noticed that he was much like his dad, a bit alike her.
'Nice to meet you.' She said in reply.
'You guys look tired.' Simon's mother said, her sweet voice was like honey.
'We are. Busy day.' Ghost stretched.
'Alright. Well, me and your dad are off to bed Simon. You guys know where everything is.' The parents bid goodnight and left swiftly.
Nobody argued when Simon suggested they just watch something on Netflix. Everybody was sat either on the sofa or on the chairs, nobody sat on the floor. Within moments of the film beginning, Ky's eyes began drooping, feeling like they were weighing tonnes. Eventually, she gave in fighting and fell asleep. Simon and Bodil noticed Ky's quiet humming as she slept seeing as they were sat next to her.
One by one, the friends fell asleep until they were all out cold. They dreamed as they rested, but all shared one thought. Today was the most fun they have had in ages.
