BODIL' S POV

I was so happy she said yes. I thought she would turn me down for Simon or Ghost since she both looked happy with them and seemed to be really close. But I'm so glad that she said 'yes', I wouldn't have it any other way. We were sat on the swings, talking and laughing. The weather was warm but clouds were forming in the sky, giving little protection from the sun.

'Hey Martin?' Ky said, leaning her head lightly against the chains of the swing.

'Yeah?' I reply.

'Can we not tell anybody yet? You know, keep it between us?' She asked.

'I was going to ask the same thing! Are you sure that we don't share the same mind?' I chuckle.

'Nope!' Ky replies.

'Did you know Simon and Ghost like you as well?' I say.

'Yeah. But I wouldn't have dated Ghost. Maybe Simon but I'm not too sure.' She said.

'Why not?' I queer.

'Ghost is really kind but seemed too of the 'out to impress' kinda dude. But don't get me wrong, he is an awfully nice friend. Simon was more relaxed but I don't think of him like that. Y'know?' She said. 'But I like all of you guys! You guys are awesome!'

'I get what you are saying. I know that feeling.' I admit.

'Really?' Ky looks at me.

'Yeah. A few years ago, I dated this girl. I liked her and it seemed that she liked me. But after a while, she started using me for things like status boosts and stupid things like that. I dumped her shortly after I started going out with her.' I look at the floor, my eyes following a bug on the floor for no real reason.

'I hate people who do that. But I swear I wouldn't do anything like that to anybody, boyfriend or not. I wouldn't do that to anyone.' Ky says and gives me a reassured smile.

Standing up, I stretch and allow my now numb leg to return to its normal state. 'Care to partake in a stroll with me my lady?' I say poshly in a British accent and hold my hand out to her.

'Indeed I shall my good sir.' She smiled and accepted my hand, allowing me to pull her up off of the seat and to my side.

We walked through down, doing what friends do. Granted we got a few weird looks...alright we got a lot of weird looks but that was what made it funny. Eventually leaving the streets, we traded gravel for dirt as we walked across a small park that hardly anybody uses. The space was too small to do anything more than sitting around. Soon, we reached a wooded area that was all too familiar to me.

'Wow...I feel like Katniss.' Ky said, looking around and peering through the trunks of the trees.

'Yeah I know. Me and the guys used to come here when we were younger. Our parents sat here and we would play games in amongst the trees. We even built a tree house we would stay in if it was raining. Bashur's Dad and My dad built it.' I smile, letting all the memories flood back to me.

I remember playing pirates, explorers and other seemingly childish games with the guys. All those years ago.

'Is the house still there?' Ky wondered.

'Don't know. Be surprised. We kept it built, rebuilding and replacing parts as we needed, for years. I don't know.' I say.

Letting my childhood guide me, I start to walk in a direction, away from the entrance of the wooded area. Ky followed behind, following me slowly. In between trees, ducking under low and falling branches, I saw it. The tree that I call the 'Ladder Tree'. The branches can be climbed like a ladder, giving us a good place to sit and climb as and when we pleased. Standing under it, I look up. And, there it was, the treehouse. It loomed like it hasn't aged, possibly being used by others.

Ky's figure appeared next to me, also looking up. I said nothing as I slowly began to climb up the ladder like branches.
