KY’S POV

‘Yeah. Sorry again.’ I apologise and Simon smiled.

‘Seriously, don’t worry. It’s fine.’ Simon said and I smiled as I sat up, careful not to wake the sleeping troller sat on the sofa.

Simon too shifted around on the sofa as well. Looking around, I look at my new friends as they slept. Double didn’t seem to have moved from his coveted ball on the sofa against a pillow. Baki and Bashur slept almost the same. With their arms folded across their stomachs and chins resting under their shirts. I noticed Baki had a tight hold over the remote for the TV. Bodil was asleep with his head resting on his arms and glasses falling down his nose. I smiled.

‘Are they always like this?’ I whisper.

‘Pretty much. You get used to it. Us lot aren’t ones to get up early.’ Simon said as he stretched.

‘Me neither. Me and my dad are like that in the holidays.’ I say and he chuckles.

Slowly, around half an hour later, the others woke up. Double nearly rolled off the sofa thinking it was his bed…typical of him. Baki woke up last. I guess being a snowman is tiring stuff.

‘Morning.’ Bashur yawned as he pulled down his shirt.

‘Morning melon.’ Double said, replacing the pillow he was holding on the sofa.

‘What time is it? Anybody know?’ Bodil asks us.

‘8.’ Simon answered which only caused Martin to face plant the pillow next to him and groan. I stifle a laugh at the muffled groan.

Simon stood up slowly from the sofa, making me lean to the right where he was sat because of the cushions. After arranging myself and after Bodil prised his face off of the pillow, Simon asked ‘Anybody want anything? Drinks? Breakfast?’

We all fancied a coffee and Bashur shot off to help Simon. Meanwhile Baki had the remote and was flicking through the channels to try and find something good on. Nothing was really on but Baki instead consulted Netflix for some guides and ideas on what to watch. He put on Avengers Assemble.

‘I hope the people next door don’t think there is an apocalypse. We all sound like zombies.’ Double said and I laugh along with the Snowman.

Looking left, I see Bodil still half asleep. I place my hand on his back and he jumps slightly.

‘Come on Bodil. Wake up now!’ I say and he nods before yawning.

Bashur and Simon come through with drinks and I leap up of the sofa (narrowly missing Bashur) and attempt to take the cups off Simon to help him. Our fingers cup getting stuck in the handle but soon we were free and the cups were set gently on the coffee table.

‘Best not to try and carry so many mugs next time.’ Simon said and we agree with him.

We take our cups and make small chat. Nobody was really awake enough to talk normally. We were still waking up but hopefully the coffee should give us a kick start. It wasn’t until around 9 before we were awake fully. Simon’s parents came in as we were talking about music and what bands were better than others.

‘Morning. I’m surprised that you are awake this early. Did you sleep alright?’ Simon’s mum said.

I sipped my coffee as Simon gave me a glance. I tried to hide a smile which didn’t work too well. Simon and I knew we wouldn’t tell anybody about that. It was an accident after all.

‘Yeah. The sofa was comfortable.’ Simon said when Bodil began coughing.

I give him a weird look before he stops. ‘Sorry. Coffee was hotter than I thought.’ He said.

‘Well. Help yourselves to breakfast and give us a shout if you need us or anything.’ Simon’s dad said before his dad and mum walked away again.

Me and the guys stayed in Simon’s house until late morning when I said I should go home. They offered to walk me home but I insisted that there was no need.

‘Thanks for having me.’ I think his parents.

‘That’s alright. Anytime. Goodbye!’ They said and I left.

My house was around a 10 minute walk. I actually knew the way which was good. I wanted to go home to see Dad so I left Simon’s front drive and straight away began running as soon as my feet reached the pavement. It didn’t take me that long to get home with me full out sprinting. I am actually a very sporty person despite my obsession for video games. As soon as I enter the door, I shout to him.

‘Dad? I’m home!’ I shout and my dad appears in the doorway to the kitchen.

‘Hello Kydo.’

‘Don’t call me that. We talked about this.’ I roll my eyes.

‘Don’t worry about that. I have got something to tell you.’ He said and signalled for me to follow him.

As I walked into the kitchen, I gave my dad a look of confusion at what awaited me.
