The grass tickled your face as you lied in it, the cool air blowing it gently. His thumb gently traced circles on your hand as he held it. The sky was clear that night. Twinkling stars dotted the deep blue stretch of sky above you like stray glitter on your shirt after a kindergarten art project. It was a beautiful sight to behold, yet your gaze wandered over Shisui's profile continually. You admired his soft features, feeling yourself fall in love with his absentminded smile all over again.
His skyward gaze broke as he turned his head slightly to face you. You looked away for a moment, embarrassed that he had "caught" you. "Is something up?" he asked you softly, the moonlight reflecting in his dark eyes.
A dreamy sigh escaped your mouth. "I just love you so much," you whispered, a gentle smile appearing on your face. Your eyes might have been playing tricks on you because of the low light, but you could've sworn you saw a light blush form on his cheeks. He turned onto his side to fully face you as his hand went up to caress your face gently.
"I love you more."
You nuzzled into his hand, giving it a little smooch. Your arm hung loosely at his waist as you chuckled lightly and said, "Woah there pal, when did this become a competition?"
He feigned shock. "Since when did I become just 'pal' to you?"
You leaned in slowly towards his face, your voice barely a whisper, but taunting still the same. "Oh, just a slip of the tongue. I really meant 'your royal highness'."
"Damn right," he mumbled against your mouth as you kissed each other softly. You felt like you couldn't get enough, as you pulled away only slightly to catch your breath. You kissed the side of his mouth, saying almost exasperatedly, "Ugh, you're so cute. I love you so much."
"Aww, I love you too, cutie," he cooed as you kissed one final time before touching your foreheads together, studying each other's features.
There was only one thing on your mind.
"How did I get so lucky?"
