A/N: Human Names Ahead! In case it isn't obvious, Teddy = TD, Leah = Leafy, Eve = Evil Leafy, Penelope = Pin, and though he's only mentioned in this chapter, Lou = Loser.

This was it. The first day of school. Or at least, the first day of high school. "Meow?" Rain, Teddy's cat asked, confused, as Teddy gently smiled and petted the black cat. As she went out the door, she signed to her parents to keep Rain safe, before fully stepping outside. And almost immediately, a familiar green eyed girl tackled her into a hug.

"Hey Teddy! I'm so happy you're going to BFB High School just like us!" Leah, Teddy's annoyingly positive neighbor, gushed. She quickly turned her head towards the girl beside her. "Eve's starting as a freshman this year too! Isn't that right, Eve?"

Eve, who had an almost identical facial structure to Leah, just grunted angrily. Despite the two girls' bone structures and face shapes being alike, the two sisters were complete opposites. Leah was relentlessly optimistic and had leaf green eyes that contrasted her dark skin and brown hair. Meanwhile, Eve was the surly redhead with a thick eyebrows and an angry dark eyed glare constantly on her pinkish face.

"Hey, guys!" The group turned to see a red haired girl running to them from the other side of the cul de sac.

"Penelope!" Leah waved her over. "Penelope, I'm sorry you weren't voted class president this year either."

"It's fine," Penelope reassured her, though her tired eyes and tone of voice said otherwise. "Anyways, we need to hurry up and get to school!" she said, quickly changing the topic. "Come on!"

Penelope was the other redhead of their little group. She was the ambitious one who was the student council president all throughout middle school and saw herself as the heroic leader everyone else needed. However, last school year, she actually lost a school election to a popular boy named Lou and ever since then, her silver eyes seemed to lose their spark. She only seemed to get even more down when she lost the elections for this year's student council as well.

During the walk to school, Teddy was busy looking around at the scenery. The neighborhood trees were just beginning to lose their leaves as summer gave way to fall. She couldn't help but notice the colorful leaves crunching under her feet. It was a good thing the high school was close to their tiny neighborhood in Middlewood. That meant they could walk to school instead of taking the bus. Teddy shuddered at the thought of the bus. It was way too loud and crowded for her liking. As overwhelming as Leah and Penelope could be with their overt extroversion, they couldn't even hope to compete with the bus.

"And now, welcome to BFB High!" Leah's energetic voice rang out, awakening Teddy from her stupor. She looked up, blinking in surprise. She vaguely remembered passing by this building a few years ago, back when it was still vacant and the paint still rotted off its sides. That memory seemed to be of a completely different building, considering how clean it looked now. She stared in awe for a few seconds before she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Come on! We can't be late for class!" Penelope declared, before striding confidently into the building.

Leah followed, smiling back at both Teddy and Eve. "Since you two are freshmen, you'll be going to Professor X's class first. Luckily for you, they aren't strict about tardiness, unlike Professor Four. Speaking of Professor Four, I better hurry to their class now!"

As Leah dashed after Penelope trying to catch up with her, and Eve entered the building sullenly, Teddy couldn't help but smile. New year, new school. Maybe she'd finally stop feeling like such an outsider.
