Authors Note:
This chapter will be made up into two parts. Part one will be a narrative of what has taken place in the development and building of Nyr Frysta. Part two will be the actual story leading up to chapter six.
I just felt doing a narrative would be quicker and less time consuming, not to mention less boring. Then if I would do a day to day or month to month story on the building of the city and country.
Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy.
The Narrative:
Nine month after the meeting Nyr Fyrsta has come along way. The new helpers arrived from Alagaesia three and a half month after the meeting.
In the three and a half month after the meeting. Eragon and the elves had cleared a giant opening in the woods outside the valley just in front of the mountain pass here they would start to sing the trees into sleeping halls for the new arrivals. This area would be the new city of Miogaror. It would be where everyone would live except the few Eragon allowed to live inside the valley.
Once the people from Alagaesia arrived there would be plenty of work for everyone. Some would have jobs inside the valley and others would work on building Miogaror. While a select few would would work the land outside the city in to farms to raise crops and livestock. Each race would have there own tasks and duties to preform.
Here is what has been happening in the city, valley, and to each race of people. Over the last nine month since the meeting.
Miogaror
Even though Eragon would like for all the people to live amongst each other, with all races mixed up and not worrying what race they lived next to. He knew that would not happen at least not this early, hopefully in years to come they would start to embrace each other and integrate amongst themselves.
With that being said the city was built into halves with a road as wide as the mountain pass running right threw the middle. The road ran east and west starting at the shore and ending at the mountain pass.
Each half was then split into halves basically splitting the city into quarters.
The dwarves had the southeast quarter, with the humans from Alagaesia and Surda having the southwest quarter. Being the biggest group in the city they had more then a quarter, seeing how the dwarves didn't need all there's. They had chosen to build there homes inside the mountains south of the pass.
The elves insisted on living as close to the valley opening as possible, plus they want to live amongst the tree in the woods. It was only right that they got the northwest quarter of the city.
The Urgals were more then pleased with the quarter they got. For just like the humans it was a mix of timber and grassy plains. But unlike the humans they did not clear most of the timber to build on. The Urgal very much like the idea of living with in the woods.
In the middle of town Eragon had them leave clearing on the north side of the main road. He wanted a solider and city guards barrack, along with attached jail built there. On the south side of the road they would build a grand hall and palace. So Eragon would have a place to entertain or conduct meetings, with people or guests he did not want to allow in the valley. Eragon knew them two things would have to wait until later to be built. When the main needs of the citizens and city were met.
Even though Eragon could not force them to live together like he wanted. He made it so all shops and craftsman where located up and down both sides of the main road. This way they had to all come together when buying or selling goods.
His hope was to find gold and metal in the mountains. This way he could pay everybody and eventually start an economy in this new world. That way the city and it's people would not have to rely on the riders or the people of Alagaesia for all there needs.
