Louis's POV I walked into the bakery that I visit on a daily basis and smiled when I saw the people that are behind the counter. One of them was a good frond of mine. His name is Niall Horan and he's like the best friend that I could ever ask for.
I walked up to the counter and when Niall notices me, he smiled that cheery smile that I loved seeing everyday. He walked over to me and took out a small notepad that was used for taking orders. "What will it be today mate?" Niall asked as he tried to sound professional. I chuckled and looked at the sign above him.
"Hmm...I'm feeling kind of sweet. Can I get a blueberry muffin with sugar sprinkled on top?" I asked and he smiled and wrote it down. He put the order on this spinning thing and soon, a co-worker of his started to make my order.
"So, is there anything interesting going on?" I asked him as I waited on my snack. Niall sighed and nodded, "Lexi is leaving us tomorrow..." he told me and I gasped. "Not our Lexi!" He just nodded and sighed, "It sucks even more because she was like my true friend in this place. She's like the one girl that I would actually talk to here. The others are just so sluty to me..." he added.
"Did she say why she was leaving?" I leaned over the counter in interest. Niall nodded again and smiled weakly, "She said that there was a modeling company that liked her work on Instagram and they wanted her to go and work for them. She took the job Lou..." Niall finished with yet, another sigh coming from his lips.
"Did your boss say anything of a replacement?" I asked and he nodded with a bit of joy.
"He said that the new guy should be here in two weeks to start his job," Niall replied and he was a bit happy about it. "I am so happy! There is another dude to talk to here! I can finally talk to another man that isn't you for once!" Niall cheered, but I acted as if I got my feelings hurt.
"Ow, you know words hurt, right?" I asked him and he laughed. "Come on Lou. You know that I love you, but I can't just talk to you and Zayn. Don't get me wrong, the two of you are great and all, but I need someone knew."
"So your replacing Zayn too?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. He gasped and covered his heart with only one hand.
"I would never even think of doing such a thing. He will and always will be the love of my life. No one could ever replace a man like him," Niall says offensively.
"Niall, the two of you have only been dating for a month, do you think that it's the appropriate time to say that big word?" I asked and he laughed. "I was just playing along Lou, no need to be some kind of counselor."
"Yo, I would be that extremely rude counselor that says what's on their mind. Like if the situation was that the patient feels like as if their parents don't love them, then I'll be like 'they probably don't'," I joked and Niall started to laugh.
"That's fucked up Louis," Niall said while he laughed. I just shrugged and chuckled, "Hey, we need more counselors that just speek the truth," I defended myself. "We do, but we don't need more people feeling extremely depressed about themselves," Niall retorted and I nodded, agreeing with him. "True, I guess counseling is not in my future," I sighed and Niall chuckled before saying, "You think?"
"Anyways! How are you and Zayn anyways?" I asked and I knew that's what brightened up Niall's mood a bit more because I heard his giggle and he jumped up and down.
"We're doing great! He took me on a date last night and it was so romantic! It was a walk in the park on my street, then he took me to the carnival, then we just chilled on his roof." Niall rambled, and I smiled at how cute he was being.
"You two are seriously so cute," I complimented him and he giggled again. "Well, you could have the same thing. You just have to put yourself out there man," He told me and I just rolled my eyes. "I don't think it's my time to get into a relationship yet, but we'll see," I shrugged and he just sighed.
"Louis, you've been single ever since you were 18. When was the last time that you got laid actually?" Niall asked and I nearly choked. "That's no-" "When was the last time you've gotten yourself some action Louis?" Niall rephrased his question and I blushed a deep crimson, looking down shyly.
"...when I was 18," I answered quietly. "See? You need to put yourself out there! I get it if you're looking for the right one but, you actually need to put in the effort to find Mr. Right," Niall advised.
"We'll see Niall...Now where is my muffin?" I asked as I looked in front of me and didn't see the blueberry muffin that I ordered not too long ago.
Niall tilted his head and shrugged, "Don't know?" He said before he turned and looked in the back, "Yo, who's getting my boys muffin?" Niall called.
There was a few shuffles going around before a hot and steamy muffin was placed in front of Niall. Niall thanked the worker and picked up the small plate that the muffin was on and he turned to face me.
"Here's your blueberry muffin mate, and that'll be $1.50,"He told me and I nodded before I pulled out my wallet to pay for the snack.
I handed him $2 and I let him keep the change. He thanked me and I started to eat the sugary snack.
Niall walked away to work with another customer and I just enjoyed my time eating the decent muffin.
I mean I like this place, don't get me wrong. It's just that I would prefer them to hire someone who can make the best pastries.
"So is the new guy going to have a position?" I asked Niall when I was done with the muffin. Niall nodded and walked back to where I was. "The boss said that the guy wanted to work both sides, so one day he'll be behind the counter, but the next day he'll be back there working on the pastries."
"Did you guys get a taste of what his pastries are like?" I asked and Niall chirped up. "Oh my god Lou! The guy is amazing! Here, I saved one for you," He bent down a bit and I saw him bring out a cupcake.
"What is it?" I asked as I took the cupcake from him. "It's a strawberry cupcake with a strawberry filling. There are also bits of strawberries in there. It's so good!" Niall said with with a perky attitude.

I looked at the pastry and I shrugged before I took a bite of it.

God!
It was so good! I literally moaned at the taste of it.
"I know right?!? The guy is a pro at this!" Niall said and I nodded and finished the cupcake.
