How can you tell that what you see is not a figment of your imagination? Surely that is all life is, a disillusion. A nightmare that nobody is destined to survive. Or maybe I'm the delusional one.

Damn, Stop it Leith. Elder Moanna won't like it that my mind is wandering again. All she wants it the 'best of the best' protecting our tribe. Yet how will we help when Inru falls apart?

Inru is buried in history. Four tribes each one controls an element. The Highdent Tribe, where I'm from, controls water. We also provide the other tribes with fish and the main supply of water. Over time there has been disagreements. Mainly between us and the Merai Tribe, the fire wielders. Years and years ago The War of the Elementalists ended. It was a long and drawn out battle with many deaths. During the war we ended up destroying all our technology. All of a sudden we were in primitive times again. My tribe built beach huts while The Ternec Tribe, the tribe that controls the air or in other words the wind, built their huts in the trees.

"Hey what you staring at?" My friend Pavati called from across the yard.

I smirked at her "Nothing for you to be concerned about"

"It's a girl isn't it?" She asked approaching me. Everyone assumed me and her would eventually get married and have children but she was nothing more than a friend. Don't get me wrong, she is pretty with the tribes signature blonde hair (Which she normally has tied up, for practicality) and the large chocolate Brown eyes of the Silmur Tribe but she... I don't know.... not my type?

"No!"

"Yeah it is, who is it?" She pushed.

I growled at her "It's nothing okay!"

"Is because I'm a half-breed?" She asked pouting slightly. "Is it because my mom is a Earth wielder?"

I sighed, she always played this card "Of course not Pav"

"Then why?" She whined

"Look It's nothing" I said turning to face the training dummy.

"It clearly is nothing" She frowned at me. "Is it Avira?"

"No..."

"Leith!" A stern elderly woman hobbled down the stone steps of the ancient temple. Her tight bun of grey hair bounced on the top of her pale wrinkled head.

I bowed to her as a sign of respect and out of the corner of my eye I watched Pav copy my actions "Elder Moanna"

"Leith tomorrow at noon The Master Elder will want to speak to you" She spoke in a way was annoying. It was like she thought she was better than us all.

"Yes Elder Moanna" I replied.

"May I ask why The Master Elder wants me?" I knew I was going into unmarked territory with this question.

She glared at me with large blue eyes "Back to training Leith, you poltroon, I don't even understand why The Master Elder let you become a guardian." She turned and stormed away.

I rolled my eyes at her behavior. She is just upset about her son. "She still hates you huh?" Pav commented.

I nodded "Yeah"

"Interesting..." She started messing with some nearby water with her mind.

"Not really" I said as I became entranced in the waters movement because quite frankly I have other things on my mind for example why would the Master Elder want to see me... It isn't my time yet.... right?
