Tay and New

The Calm Before the Storm

New closed the door to Tay's hotel room and stealthily went to the bed where his best friend was lying in deep slumber. He noticed how the sleeping man was snoring lightly so, like always, he made sure to record the moment on his phone before enveloping him in a vicious hug.

Tay was startled awake and immediately screamed murder prompting New to cover his mouth firmly, afraid that the soundproofed walls won't be able to hold his screams.

Tay struggled to get New's hand out of his mouth but the other refused to give in. The hustle ended with the older man pinned to the bed with the younger man's weight above him and his lips covered by the other man's lips in a futile attempt to silence him. When Tay started to giggle, New straightened his back and looked curiously at the man below him.

"I like you best when you're aggressive" Tay wiggled his eyebrows suggestively at the other who pinched both his cheeks in irritation.

"Awlso, I cwant hwelp but notwice you're stwradlling meeee. Ouuuuuuch!" Tay yelped some more when New moved from pinching his cheeks to pulling out his hair. He drew the naughty boy into a tight embrace and New gave in immediately so he could snuggle the crook of the older man's neck.

"I missed this" New mumbled into Tay's skin.

Tay kissed the side of New's head accessible to him. "Don't worry. I will always be here-"

"Shhh" New interrupted "It's better not to make promises"

The weight of New's words bothered Tay but try as he might the younger one could not be prodded to look up at him. He knew fully well how much New valued promises and understood that the younger one was feeling afraid. He decided to let the issue rest for a while.

"How about an 'I love you'?" Tay sighed and the rise and fall of his chest bought a wave of reassurance that New did not know he needed.

New raised his head and smiled at the other, "Well, thank you for loving me". And, in an uncharacteristic show of sweetness, he smothered Tay's face with kisses until both were laughing too much.

"It's pretty late. Won't your mom be looking for you?" Tay inquired a little later.

"Mom knew I had a hidden agenda with my 'boyfriend' when I insisted that you couldn't stay at our house" New teased. He smirked mischievously when he noticed the other squirm in discomfort.

"Hey, my intentions were pure and honest when I said that I'd rather stay at a hotel. How could you do this to me New?" Tay's voice was distressed "How will I ever be able to show my face to her again?"

"You have to leave" Tay said as he half-heartedly pushed a laughing New.

"I'm pretty sure your mother-in-law is too fond of you to think about trivial matters"

Tay laboriously sat up bringing New's body with him in the process, "Hin, why didn't you correct your mom when she assumed that we were boyfriends?"

New, who remained comfortably seated on Tay's lap, stared at the tensed boy "I just thought that mae would find our set-up confusing so it was easier to let her continue to think that her son has finally snagged himself a wonderful boyfriend"

Tay looked at New carefully and reached out and cupped the other's face in his hands "You are the wonderful one"

New's smile turned coy and he kissed the palm of Tay's hand "You know, I was never opposed to us being boyfriends. I was just embarrassed to say it after you've already said you were okay with us not being boyfriends yet. My pride wouldn't let me. I'm sorry"

Tay's eyes grew wide "So, can you be my boyfriend now?"

"Yep" New pecked at Tay's lips that were still slightly open from shock.

"I finally have my first boyfriend and it's my best friend" Tay whispered absentmindedly.

New nodded, his face flushed from embarrassment.
