I grabbed for my phone, needing to turn off the blaring alarm. I groaned and rubbed my face. I didn't want to go to school until I realized what day it was. It's Friday! Tonight is the football game with Cyrus. I sat up and began to get ready for school. Outside it was cool and brown and red leaves covered the ground. There was a breeze making it even colder than it had been. I wore a crew neck sweatshirt I had gotten from a school clothing order and paired it was blue jeans.

School seemed to tick by. Every period got longer and longer. I wanted it to be the end of the day so that I could be with Cyrus. Finally, I got to last period and I couldn't stand it anymore. My teacher kept talking and I couldn't bear to listen to it. I found myself spacing out. I was imagining my night with Cyrus. We would go to the game and then after I would ask if he wanted to go to The Spoon. I was going to pick him up at 6:30 cause the game was 7 and we could always just talk before the game started.

"TJ, how do reconcile a checkbook," I was pulled out of my thoughts. Shit.

"Um, I don't know," I answered.

"Good, I'm going to show you," My teacher answer. I sighed with relief.

The bell rang making me jump out of my seat. I walked fast down the hallway, meeting Amber at her locker.

"Come on! Let's go," I said to her grabbing her locker door. I pulled it back and forth hitting my feet.

"Teej, just because I moved faster doesn't mean 6:30 is going to come faster," she laughed. I had told her my plan the night before because, if you couldn't tell, I'm excited.

"I guess so," I sighed. With that, Andi walked up to us. Amber stood up from her knees since her locker was on the bottom. I raised my eyebrows at her, earning an eye roll.

"Hey, Andi," Amber smiled.

"Hi, Amber. Hey TJ," Andi said looking at Amber.

"Hi," I answered trying not to draw attention to myself.

"I was wondering if you wanted to go to lunch tomorrow?" Andi asked.

"Of course," Amber managed to sound normal. I looked away from the two girls knowing that one of Andi's friends had to be near. After scanning the hallway around us I found Cyrus leaning against the wall watching it all go down. He was leaning on the wall next to the trophy case. I smiled at him and he smiled back. Amber took me out of my gaze when she closed her locker and said, "Okay let's go." I watched as Cyrus walked away with Andi. I nudged Amber in the side and she smiled stupidly at me.

"You two are so cute Amb," I said, "I'm so happy for you."

She slung her arm around my shoulder, "Thanks Teej. And I'm happy for you,"

"Why?" I asked sarcastically earning an eye roll and a hit on the arm. I laughed as we walked out to the car.

"TJ, calm down," Amber yelled from her room.

"I'm fine," I was not fine.

"No you're not," she said appearing in my doorway. I was pacing back and forth across my bedroom. I took a deep breath.

"Calm down Teej. Don't be nervous," she comforted me.

"I've never done this before," I played with my hands still pacing.

"I know. Come here," Amber held out her arms. I walked into them and hugged her. She held me tight. I immediately calmed down. Something inside of me told me that I should be nervous but I pushed the feeling away.

"I have to leave in a few," I said letting go.

"Have fun. Be careful, okay?" she said. I nodded and gathered myself.

"Okay," I breathed, "I'll see you later. I love you."

"I love you too. Have fun, Teej," I smiled at her before closing the door behind me.

The sun was beginning to set and the sky was painted shades of orange, pink, and blue. I admired the view from my parking spot as Cyrus did the same. People were walking up to the gate to the field. People in various school clothing passed by us. It was 6:52 now. We had been in the car for a few minutes now just admiring the sunset.

"Wanna go now?" I asked grabbing my phone and keys. Cyrus nodded and we both emerged from the car. We met each other in front of the car and walked up to the field. We walked close. We always walked close. Our shoulders bumped as walked. If it were anyone else I would be apologizing but for some reason, I didn't feel the need to. When we made eye contact our glances seemed to linger. When I made eye contact with someone else I looked away as quickly as possible. Why was Cyrus different? TJ,you're reading too much into this.

We sat in the center of the bleachers. Everyone stood up while they watched the game but before it started everyone sat down knowing that they would be standing until half time. I was next to Cyrus and the ledge was on the other side of him. I watched as the cheerleaders stood on the field. This time I didn't have Reed to let me know what I was looking at and I was okay with that.

It was beginning to get colder out and not having pockets was killing me. Cyrus and I were sitting about a foot apart. People started to leave because of the cold so everyone who was left decided to sit down. Cyrus and I talked about everything and anything. As I looked at him I wondered what he was feeling. I couldn't help but notice how he looked at me for a little longer than his other friends and the way he smiled and said hi to me when he saw me in the hallway. I wondered if when he saw a friend of his he always watched them until he couldn't see them even if he was talking to someone else or if he only did that with me. I can't wait to tell Amber about this! It was just after halftime and we were losing by a lot. So few people were there that if I spoke everyone would hear what I was saying. Well, no. there were a lot of people but not many students were left which I was perfectly okay with.

Get ready for the next chapter because I can guarantee that you are not ready for it! I'll post it ASAP. Also, I have a countdown going for Andi Mack to come back and there are 30 days!!!
