I collude with the stars. Present from the birth of the smallest lights till the falling dark snuffs them out. They tell me their secrets so they are remembered till the end of all things, when I will tell their story. I will reach then soon, for I am longer lived than gods or men, though you will find none of the former here. They are dead or sleeping. Those are the reasons only I can tell this story from beginning to end. I will practice telling it to you now, but for brevity, I will start in the middle, engineer the beginning, and wait for the end. We start with a mortal. She will die. Why and how? That is unimportant. As someone who is likely a mortal yourself, you know the more pertinent question to be 'when.'
