Gone
I'm gone before my family can get back,
I don't know where I'm headed but i'm gone.
I push my wheelchair down the hall, I see a sign that says 'staircase this way' with an arrow.
Going down a staircase in a wheelchair could kill me, right?
I get to the top of the staircase and look around, no one is here.
"i'm sorry" I mutter under my breath, wheeling the chair forward.
I squeeze my eyes tight, ready for release.
But then the chair stops.
"you missed the elevator" a voice says
crap
I look down, the wheelchair is on solid floor
I look up, and there is a boy my age looking down at me
"you okay?" he asks, and I nod, he bites his lip and sighs through his nose
"I know what you are dealing with, and I know what you are feeling, it gets better" he says, pulling the wheelchair and me back further away from the stairs
"doesn't seem like it" I mutter, tears forming in my eyes
He sighs again, "what room are you in?" he asks me
"I don't know the number" I say
"Do you know the hall?" he asks, I shake my head
"hey! we're looking for... oh" someone else shouts while they are bombing down the hall
double crap
