strawberries and cigarettes always taste like you
I hear frantic shuffling of feet and beeping machines all around.
Then there's a warmth that overtakes my hand. Jax is back.
I hear Cynthia's heels come to a stop, I'm assuming because another guy is holding her son's hand.
She knows I'm gay. I have just never been...involved before.
people are scary
I squeeze Jax's hand, he squeezes mine back.
There's a hand on my opposite shoulder, maybe Cynthia.
The shuffling of feet settle down, there's still beeping machines.
There's muffled voices, I try to focus on listening in.
"..it may take a few days.."
"..a week at most.."
"but he will wake up?"
"..most likely.."
"thank God"
"..give it time.."
"..okay.."
I roll my eyes, but of course no one else notices, although I do hear Jax give a little snicker.
"i'm awake! I can hear you! I am awake!"
A week and a half later
I blink my eyes open, groaning.
