Chapter 4- The Past

     There was silence in the room, a bit of tension was felt as all RFA members waiting (Y/N)'s parents reaction to Zen's declaration. They seemed unfriendly now, their faces turned serious and Zen's stomach were starting to lurch that his fears might became true. He tried to open his mouth to explain himself, he will do anything no matter what it takes for them to understand that what he's feelings for her was true.

          It was Jin who spoke first breaking the uncomfortable silence.

"I can see it that you cherish her, but before we could entrust her to you Zen and to the RFA we have something to talk about first."

         Jin looks at his brother, Jinyun nodded agreeing to whatever their thinking about.

" (Y/N), darling are you sure about this?"

Jin asked (Y/N) anxiously.

        Everyone in the RFA including Zen find the situation confusing,but they know better thus they stayed silent. She replied to him.

"Yes dad, I'm ready."

      She faced Zen, then look each members before speaking again.

"I actually invited everyone here to let my fathers tell you about my past. It was a bit ugly." She paused searching for the right words to avoid misunderstanding.

"I am still incapable of telling it myself, but I felt the need that you should know since we are now a family." She smiled shyly.

"Another reason is because I don't want you to think that I can break easily but it doesn't mean that I am also invincible. Though I feel strong right now because of Zen and everyone here. However, in order for me to become a full fledge RFA member I need you to know my weaknesses because I'll be counting on your help in the future."

      In all seriousness she gazed at everyone seeking understanding from the words she just uttered. Zen, wrapped his arms around her shoulder to cheer her up. Then Yoosung being his caring and cute self blurted.

"Oh! You can definitely count on me (Y/N)! I really want to be of some help to you. O-of course if you want me to.." He said while stuttering a bit and trailed off at the end after realizing that he just suddenly spoke up his mind.

   Grateful by his words, (Y/N) smiled brightly at Yoosung and gleefully said.

" I know I can always count on you Yoosung, thank you."

He smiled sheepishly. Jaehee also shared her thoughts.

"I will do my best to assist you with anything I'm capable of doing."

         As always she was so formal. Jumin also said the same thing. Seven, on the other hand felt uneasy not because of him not wanting to help, on the contrary he felt strongly to support her. He somehow understood what she meant by ugly, for his childhood was also shrouded in darkness and suffering. Doubt was swirling inside him, the incident where (Y/N) was almost kidnapped must have triggered something in her, he thought. Guilt is eating him up, he was imprisoned in this never ending cycle.

       She looked at seven and noticed that he was not his usual goofy self. She had an idea what's troubling him so she called his name softly.

"Luciel…."

      Seven snapped from his thinking and looked up, everyone was looking at him bewildered from his out of character behaviour. He stuttered.

"Oh, oh...ahhhh. I'm sorry, was thinking something, and I- uh lost it. Sorry."

She smiled at him.

"I can guess as to what you are thinking, and as I said during the party It's not your fault and I am thankful to you. But seems like your still not going to trust my word, then may I ask you to help me more in the future as your payment then add in a box of your favorite Honey Buddha Chips?"
