Settling In

Andy, to my surprise, drove me back home after dinner. Not that I minded, he was actually starting to become less terrifying the more we talked. His family was still alive, vampires of course, and they resided in the neighboring cities. I didn't dare ask just how old any of them were.

"I'll have Cedric come get you tomorrow morning and all your things. You'll move in to my actual home, not the place we had dinner at." I cocked an eye brow at him and he genuinely laughed. "What? Didn't expect me to take my own precautions? You're a human I didn't need you turning me down and then leading a bunch of angry anti vamp fanatics to burn my home down."

That earned a laugh from me.

He pulled up to my house, putting the car in park so he could come open my door. His hand caught my wrist as I walked past him.

"Sweet dreams kitten. You have no idea the amount of fun I plan on having with you in the next few days."

I gulped as he pressed a kiss to my hand, quickly shaking free and going inside my house.

As I groaned, standing against the doorway, something becamehorrifyingly clear-

My living room light was on.

Someone was here.

I pulled out my keys that had my pepper spray on it, shaking as I walked towards it.

"W-whoever's here I'm warning you. I have a gun." Yeah Layla, that'll totally scare off some creep.

As soon as I walked into the room, I noticed a familiar red head sitting angrily on my couch.

"Sam what in the hell-"

"Oh fuck no! I get to ask the questions! I've been waiting here for hours after seeing your text and you're just now getting back- after 1 am! Where the fuck have you been?"

Her hazel eyes were filled with tears ready to spill over her freckled cheeks. I had completely forgotten the text I sent her, and I stood frozen trying to remember what I was suppose to tell her.

Andy had strict rules about no one knowing who he really was and no one knowing I was pretty much going to be a human play thing for him.

Breathe Layla, he told you what to say.

I took a deep breath and sat by my long time best friend, taking her hands in mine,

"I didn't mean to scare you. Actually I met someone- he was the person I've been with all night." Her eyes widened and I could tell what her looming question was.

"No, we didn't sleep together. But he is very kind and we decided to try being together. I'm moving in with him-"

Sam yanked her hands away from me and shouted "Have you lost your mind!! You just met him."

She was right, what was I doing?

"Sam, I'm perfectly capable of making my own decisions. The man is extremely nice and wealthy and wants to take care of me-"

"In exchange for what, sex? Is he some old creepy dude who's a billionaire? Are you crazy!!"

I was starting to get why Andy hated me interrupting him when he talked.

"Look, you're my best friend. I didn't mean to worry you. And no, he isn't some old creepy billionaire. He's a successful business man." If I could call him that. "In fact he has a place he owns he said I can work at. I'm not going to be living Scott free on his money you know I hate that. It'll all be fine. But I need to sleep, can we talk tomorrow?"

I could tell she didn't buy any of it but it's all I had. I'm sure Andy would be thrilled to hear my rule about wanting to work, but I truly wouldn't live for free with him. I wanted to work. The thought of someone taking complete care of me and having control over me wasn't something I could stomach.
