A tall, fit, shirtless, Jacob stood by her bedside. In the dim light of her table lamp, Maggie could make out a tattoo on his right arm and the short hair he now dorned. Her whole body was overcome with emotions, her heart racing and her head foggy. He just stood there. Gone for four days without so much as a text message, then suddenly appeared in her bedroom.

She dropped the picture frame and walked right up to him.

Before he could say anything, Maggie grabbed Jacob by the jaw and pulled him in for a passionate kiss. He didn't pull back. Infact, he grabbed her waist with his large hands and pulled her to him, kissing her back with just as much passion as she gave him if not more. The kiss was heated and heavy, every emotion she had been feeling the past few days was being poured out into this kiss. And for Jacob, the kiss only scratched the surface of how deep his feelings were for Maggie.

They pulled apart, leaning their foreheads on each others to catch their breaths. The heat mixing together in a sweet minty steam. She could have gone in for more, could have kept her lips on him for the next few days if he had let her. He would have taken her somewhere they would be alone so he could kiss her all day, if she had let him. Just the two of them forever.

Maggie pulled back to study the new Jacob slowly, her fingers dragging along his newly defined jawline, to his prominent brow and then raked her fingers through the new short hairdo. "I have so many questions-"

"And I have answers. And i'll answer them in time. But i'm so sorry I left you in the dark." Jacob said, holding Maggie's face in his warm hands. He hadn't realize that a tear escaped her beautiful brown eyes. The eyes he fell in love with. With a swipe of his thumb, he removed the tear from her tinted cheek. "Can I kiss you again?"

"Please." She begged before jumping into his embrace. She wrapped her arms around his prominent shoulders. His arms wrapped around her waist and he held her tighter, closer. HIs heart could explode at the emotions bouncing around inside of him like a child who just ate too much candy. He was mad at himself for hurting the woman he loved like this, but he also felt like he could cry from the joy he has that she didn't abandon him, even when he deserved it. He cherished Maggie so much. He didn't want to let her go, and she didn't want him to. The two of them wanted to stay like this forever.

Jacob released her back to the ground to which she jogged back to the picture frame on the ground, picked it back up, and placed it back in its place. She shut the door quietly and turned to Jacob.

"Where have you been?" She began, folding her arms over her chest. She was past the romantic feelings, now she was just angry.

"I've been home. I needed some time." He answered truthfully, taking a seat on her bed. He felt like the sorrow and tears that were cried in this room were tangible. He didn't noticed, but her trash bin that sat next to her desk was filled with the tissues that helped Maggie console herself.

"The hair? The tattoo? I've texted and called almost every night and I didn't get anything back!" She interrogated. He fiddled his thumbs.

"It's different." Jacob said, still not meeting his love's eyes. "I.. I had to do some thinking. Things have changed."

"What do you mean? Is it something I did? Did.. Did I read into this wrong?" Maggie asked, her throat beginning to feel familiarly tight as if she was going to cry again.

"No!" Jacob sprung to his feet. He captured her arms in his hands and looked in her the eyes. "Absolutely not. This has nothing to do with us! Well, it does, but not in a bad way!"

"You need to explain more then," Maggie shook free of his arms and backed up slightly. "I'm completely confused by you, Jacob. If it's not me, and it's not us, then what is it?!"
