The adults came back late that night, leaving Jacob to fall asleep on the couch. The two liked the idea of limited adult supervision but didn't want to ruin the trust or test boundaries.

Jacob was awoken by Billy and was taken home shortly.

Maggie, however, was woken up early the next morning by Bella whipping through the house like a tornado. She woke up Maggie with a slam of the bathroom door. Maggie shot up from bed and immediately ran to the door, fearing that the house was being robbed. But when she opened the door and saw her sister throwing things into a bag, she almost wished that the house was being broken into.

"What the hell are you doing?!" Maggie shouted.

Bella looked to her sister but only for a second before continuing packing. "It's not safe for me here. It's not safe for you, either."

"What the hell are you talking about? Bella, what is going on?!" Maggie grabbed her sister by the shoulder. Suddenly Edward popped into her window, grabbing Maggie's attention.

"Maggie, we need to go." Edward warned her.

"Fuck that!" Maggie blurted out. "It's nine-thirty in the morning on a Saturday, where in the world could you need to be right now?"

"Someone is coming after Bella, a newborn. He was hot on our trail but we need to go now." Edward reply.

"I'm not going anywhere with you, bloodsuckers!" Maggie protested.

"Maggie!" Bella shouted but Maggie ignored her.

"This isn't my war and I will be damned if I have to leave my world just to fit in yours." Maggie seethed. The sound of Charlie's footsteps coming up the stairs broke the conversation and sent Edward out the window fast, but not before he looked to Bella and said, "Remember the plan."

Charlie grabbed the two girls attention when he stopped in Bella's doorway with his hands on his hips. "What the hell is going on up here?!"

"I'm leaving, Charlie." Bella replied, throwing more clothes into her duffle bag.

"Sorry, what?" Charlie asked, looking between Bella and Maggie.

"I need get out of here. I'm going home, to mom." Bella mumbled.

"What?!" Charlie and Maggie shouted in unison.

"You heard me." She huffed, pushing past both Maggie and Charlie. Maggie wasn't going to have any of it. "What the hell do you mean you're going to Mom's? Why are you doing this?" Maggie yelled at her sister.

Bella looked to her dad and then her sister. "I don't belong here."

Bella pushed past Maggie again before throwing her toiletries in her bag and zipping it up. "Bella, w-was it something I did? Am I not doing something right?" Charlie asked. His tone of voice broke the girls' heart, but Bella knew that she needed to leave, and unfortunately Maggie knew she couldn't stop her.

Charlie and Maggie followed Bella down the stairs and out the door, where Bella threw her things into her truck and sped off without so much as a goodbye.

Charlie's heartache was tangible and too much for Maggie to handle. She looked to her father who had tears brimming his eyes. Maggie grabbed her fathers hand and squeezed it. He looked down at her with a half smile and said, "You're not going to leave me, are you?"

Maggie shook her head no and wrapped her father in a hug. "Not a chance old man."

The two went inside to figure out what to do for the rest of the day. Charlie was concerned for Bella but because she was 18, he really couldn't do too much. He though she was going to Jacksonville to be with her mother, but Maggie knew that the Cullen's were whisking her away. She didn't know where, but she only hoped that she would come back human.
