My two hours of Chemistry rolled away quickly but thankfully I managed to finish my lab and hand it over to my professor. I hated to take work home with me, call me whatever you want it was just something I couldn't do. Whenever I'd got home i ended up forgetting an important aspect of the experiment and my grade would reflect it. My mind tend to do that thing where it separated home from school, I couldn't blame it, school really got exhausting sometimes.
"Your conclusion could've been longer." Jace's voice pulled me from my head while I packed my bag to leave for lunch.
If I'm being completely honest I'd somehow forgot he was even in my class. It could've been the fact that I'd tried to sit at the opposite end of each class I had with him, which meant all my classes. I hadn't spoken to him since our amazing sleepover and frankly I wasn't planning on speaking to him any time soon.
I glimpsed up at from my chair and gave him the keep-your-opinion-to-yourself look before closing my bag and tossing it over my shoulder. I made my way out the class ready to stuff my face with practically anything the cafeteria had to offer.
The footsteps I heard closely behind me told me Jace thought I gave him the be-your-usual-rude-self-and-come-have-lunch-with-me look. I wanted to turn around and shout at him but decided against giving him even the slightest ounce of my attention.
Kacy and Alexandra were already sitting at our usual spot and judging by the extra lunch tray on their table, they'd already got me something to eat.
"Hey." I greeted them as I took my seat. They both seemed to be grateful for my arrival because it was the first I'd ever seen them both completely end their conversation and turn all their attention to me. Weird was an understatement of the whole situation but I shrugged it away and started eating the fries on my plate.
"Have you thought about it?" Kacy asked, emphasizing the middle word of her sentence.
She already knew I would say yes so I really understood her whole "duh" attitude, but I liked to mess with her.
"Yeah I actually have. I think I'm fine with being the vice-captain."
The look that took over her face proved to me that she really didn't want to be cheer captain, she just wanted us to be doing something together that didn't involved Alexandra. She was pale for a minute and I continued to eat my fries.
"Could you be serious for once, this is really important to me." I wasn't looking at her anymore but I could hear her pout.
Of course it was important to her, she needed to hear me choosing her side out loud. She eventually would but toying with her was pretty fun. "What do you think Alexandra? Do you think the co-captain thing is a good idea?"
Alexandra was so easy to read her eyes alone made it clear she didn't want to be dragged into it. I met her gaze for a seconds before she pulled away pretending she hadn't heard what I had asked. It would've been way more exciting if she had opened her mouth and sided with me, but she hadn't.
"Fine, I'll do it." I sighed, keeping in how happy I was about actually doing it. Kacy told me to shut up earlier so I had to let her feel as though I was reluctant to sharing a position with her.
As expected Kacy squealed and clapped her hands. Huh, guess my reluctance didn't affect her. She went onto talking about our next routine and costumes. I zoned her out after noticing Jace walking towards us. Great.
"We need to talk." He said, sitting between Alexandra and I.
Some nerve that fucker had.
"No we don't." I hissed at him, fighting the urge to throw the remainder of my fries on him.
