Chapter 3 : mystery man

TRYING to keep my cool I take a deep breath before entering the house.

"I'm back!" I shout as tilly comes runing huging my leg. I laugh and pick her up. She grabs my cheeks and plants a big slopy kiss on my forehead.

I laugh as I put her down. "We can't go park today," I say as she frowns. I didn't like to let her down however I  wasn't in the right mental state.

"But we can have loads of ice cream and I'll take you tommow after I pick you up from school okay," I say smiling. She thinks about it for a moment and looks at me

"promise," She says looking at me with wide eyes and holding her pinki finger out. I smile

"Pinki promise," I say linking my little finger with her's. I picked her up again and tickle her belly makeing her laugh.

"I've got a surprise for auntie," I say with a smile. I take her with me as we go into the kitchen. She's always cooking something.

"Guess what," I say placing till on her chair.

"What?" She says peeling potatos.

"Guess!" I say rolling my eyes.

"I don't know tell me," she says.

"Nope that's not it," I laugh she glares at me.

"I'm gonna peel you like these potatos now tell me what," she says I just laugh.

"Well I'm not gonna tell you if you keep threatening me," I say folding my arms.

She just looks at me "okay okay fine I'll tell You," She smiles.

"go on then," she says impatient.

"Okay okay drum roll please!" Tilly starts banging on the table laughing. I shrug. Close enough

"I got a job!" I shout excitedly.

Jen drops the pototato "WHAT, really?" She says

"Yes really, I told you it's not that hard," she rolls her eyes

"Where?" She asks

"At the coffee shop why," I ask

"Really there hiring," I nod

"Yup I asked them the same thing,"

"Wait how did you get the job so fast when did you apply?"

"Today," I say grabbing a apple

"What!" She shouts I nod

"My exact reaction," I say taking a bite of my apple

"Weird," she says throwing the potato she dropped on the floor in the bin. I nod and help her with peeling the potatoes. Giving Tilly the rest of my apple.

I thought about that moment on the bus. Is he the same guy I saw this morning? I might be going crazy and I knew it but couldn't help but think that the things that I am seeing are in fact a reality.

"Why are you so spaced out lately?" Jen asks concentrated on finsishing the last of the potatos

"What you you mean," I say puting the potato I was peeling in the bowl with the rest

"You just seem to be thinking bout something," she says

"Isn't that normal," I laugh clearing away the potato skin

"You know what I mean," she says rolling her eyes

"Sorry but I realy don't get what your trying to say," I reply raiseing a brow

She sighs and turns to look at tilly playing with her dolls. She comes closse to me whispering.

"Your not doing anything shady are You," I look at her in disbelief

"I know we're tight on money but why would you even think that," I say

"For God sake I don't know you don't even talk to me," she shouts a little to loudly.

I turn to check on tilly she was still playing with her dolls not listening to the convosation.

I sigh

"I'm sorry if I'm distant," I shrug

"Well that's fucking helpful," she says annoyed.

"I'm going to go um finsh my assiment ," I say washing my hand walking towards the stairs

"Nina!" Jen shouts I ignore her and carry on up the stairs.

I run in the bathroom and turn on the tap. Splashing the cold water on my face. I look up to see a black silhouette in the mirror.

Causing me to step back knocking over the shampoo bottles. I slowly walk back toward the mirror and look again.

Nothing

I sigh this is getting annoying. I slap my forehead repeatedly.  Stop,Stop stop! The only thing that I accomplished by doing that was a sore head.

"Spirit, shadowy thing could you please leave me alone," I say like that would help or do anything.

"No can do," A low deep voice replied back. I stand there frozen in my place.
As I hear a low chuckle as it fades away.

Didn't know it would actually reply back!

I have two options talk to this thing and find out what it wants aka the stupid option or totally ignore it and go back downstairs.

But you all know what option I picked

"Wh...what do you want?" I stutter as a huge lump emerges in my throat

There was a pause and I was ready to brush the whole experience off but then it replied

"You"...
