New Boy

Josh's POV

" So , this is your school ? " I ask Corey as unlocks the door to his classroom .

" Yep . " Corey smiles .

I look around to see the classroom filled with all sorts of historical facts and moments . I hear a loud noise and turn to see Corey pulling a chair from one of the student desks in the back of the room , towards his own desk . Then , he pulls the chair behind his desk and pats the seat .

" You can sit here for now. I have to go to the office to fetch the new student , who I have first period " . Though I doubt you would , please don't do anything stupid , Josh . " Corey jokes at the end .

" I'll try my best . " I wink back .

I watch Corey leave the room , shutting the door behind him .

Corey comes into the classroom with a student not far behind him - he has brown hair, is normal guy height , and is fit.

" Bradley , this is my younger brother , Josh . Josh , meet Bradley, my new student. "

" Hey , man . " I say , offering him my hand to shake .

" How are ya ? " Bradley asks , accepting my hand .

" Pretty good , you ? "

" I'm alright. New school , so as good as it can get . "

Corey cuts in , " Don't worry , Bradley , I have a daughter and I bet she and her group of friends would love to show you around and make sure you have a good day . "

He pats Bradley on the back . " Just don't get too friendly with either of the girls , or you'll have to talk to me- well , actually only my daughter is off limits , I can't say much about Maya , but I suggest the same to her . "

My heart instantly jolts . " No , Maya is off limits too . "

" Why ? " Corey asks.

Yes , why exactly am I saying Maya is off limits. She isn't mine . She can't be ! I can't stop thinking about her , though - it's driving me insane .

Corey can't know the truth though , so I had to say something that I despised . " Because she's Lucas' . "

Corey's jaw drops . " WHAT ? Since when ? "

I shrug and turn to Bradley . " They're a good group though , I swear it . "

" Thanks man . " Bradley says to me.

" Well , Bradley you can go ahead and sit in this seat right here." he brings Bradley to a desk in the back row . " School is about to begin . "

As if almost on cue , we started to hear people talking outside the classroom . And about a minute later , the bell rang for first period.

Here we go , my first chance to see what the rest of my life will be like ...

Maya isn't in Corey's first period , is she ?

" So do you want to go see a movie tonight ? " Lucas asks me by my locker as we wait for the first period bell to ring .
