alright fine, i'll hear you out.

"um, hi gray.." Knife said as he crossed his arms.

they both paused as silence filled the air. it got way too awkward until Paintbrush came at the door. 

"what the hell are you doing here again?!" paintbrush yelled.

Knife's lip curled, before he was about to speak paintbrush stepped outside and shut the front door. 

"why're you being so quiet?" paintbrush said as they leaned against the front door with their arms crossed. 

"I just wanna make things right between us.." Knife spit out.

paintbrush paused and looked at him, raising their eyebrow.

"hm.." paintbrush took a cigarette out of his pocket and put the tip of it in their mouth. "and what exactly made you realize you wanted to do that?" they said as they took out a lighter and lit the tip of the cigarette.

knife rolled his eyes. "I don't want to keep fighting." 

"because you can't win?" paintbrush blew smoke into knife's face.

"no.. be- ugh!" knife groaned in frustration.

paintbrush grinned, "alright fine, i'll hear you out." paintbrush took out another cigarette and handed it to knife, along with the lighter. 

Knife took it and lit the cigarette on his own. 

"what a big boy." paintbrush teased. 

Knife chuckled and sat on the patio with his arms resting on his knees.

"look, I know I fucked up. many times. but somethings been bugging me to make it right. i want to become a new me. a new me that doesn't hold grudges, and admits whenever he fucks up."

paintbrush blew smoke into the air and looked down. 

"mm, that's pretty big of you." paintbrush implies. 

"how so?" knife says as he looks up.

"well, change isn't easy. but owning up to your shit, is.. um.. something."

Knife chuckles, "wow, you're not great at this speaking thing." 

paintbrush half smiles and scoffs. "hey. I'm trying." 

paintbrush sits down beside knife on the porch and they both sigh, looking into the distance.
