Elise pov

After going on almost all the rides we go to get something to eat. I sigh. "Well, i don't know any of the good places to eat. You get to choose buddy." Laddie cheers making a smile cover my face. "Can we get pizza??" I chuckle and smile. "Lead the way." He takes my hand and leads me to a a small resturant serving pizza and hamburgers. Most of the tables and booths are taken but we manage to find a booth in the corner. Laddie digs into his pizza. "I see you're still as hungry as you used to be." I mumble to myself before eating a few slices. We talk and laugh together until someone puts an arm around my shoulders. Thank god i didn't flinch. Laddie is instantly on edge and i realize we're pretty much surrounded bu a bunch of guys. The guy with his arm around me is wearing a 'flirty' look. "Hello there gorgeous~" I do my absolute best to not cringe. "Hi.." He grins and moves closer as i move away. Soon the wall stops me from moving any further. "So, what're you doing in town?" I cringe at the smell of cheap beer on his breath. Laddie looks like he really wants to go. I move through the gap between the table and the wall and get to him. "We need to go." I push through their group holding Laddie's hand.

Oh boy, did they not like that. "Where are you going? We just got here, we can show you a good time."

Third pov

In an effort to get away faster she looked at Laddie. "Hey buddy, I'll carry you okay?" At his nod she picked him up and walked faster. The surf nazis stayed at the resturant and Elise went back to where the boys had their bikes parked. Currently they weren't there but there wasn't a single resident in Santa Carla that would hang around their bikes.

The boys came back after almost two hours. They'd been talking to Max about his plan of romancing Lucy Emerson. It surprised them a little to see the two of them already there but didn't question it. Laddie looked happy. "We ate pizza." Paul chuckled and ruffled his hair. "Nice, did you have fun tonight?" The little boy nodded. "Yeah, until the surf nazis came." He frowned at the last bit. That put the guys a little on edge. "Eh, it's okay. Not the first time I've attracted unwanted attention." Elise shrugged. Sure she didn't like being hit on but it had turned out alright anyway. As it got closer to sunrise they went back to the cave. For the first time in years, as Elise laid on her bed, she felt completely calm.
