make me come alive

part 20

"Mum!" I bust through the front door.

"Mum you'll never guess what I over heard!" I shout as I take my shoes off and run into the living room with a huge smile.

"Hi sweetie." She smiles.

"Hello Miss.Kim."

My smile drops slightly.

"Dr.kim?" I say confusedly.

"Dr.kim is here because he has an offer for you. Don't be scared. Come sit down." Mum pats the space next to her on the sofa.

"Okay?..." I take a seat and look at Dr.kim with worried eyes.

"Don't be afraid Miss.kim. It's just an offer. So I've been thinking about your situation and came up with an idea that could possibly help you cope with these dreams. I have some friends that like you, suffer with these dreams. I am also included. It's a little unprofessional of me coming here and talking to you like this. But as my job it's my duty to give you the best treatment and care to help you. I've spoken with my head doctor and they said to just bump you off to a counsellor and see where it takes you. The reason he said that is because this dream situation is very rare and we don't have enough resources and research to find the solution to help. But I'm not going to do that and dump you off to a person who doesn't know what they are dealing with.

I am here to offer you a place where you can talk to people who also suffer with these distressing and realistic dreams. They are people who are my best friends and the people who I live with. You know of these people already.  I've talked with all of them just now and they agreed that they would like to help you if ever you were in need or if you were having a bad day. Someone to go to who know what your going through. I will also be one of those people. Just think of it as me being your friend instead of your doctor. But this is your call. You can take the offer or you can choose not to. The ball is in your field. You don't have to make a decision right away, I'll give you some time to think about it and just let me know what you think. I hope you won't think bad of me for coming here. I just wanted to make sure that you get the help you need and deserve." He smiles.

My brain is frazzled by all of this.

He wants me to think of him as a friend instead of my doctor?

This is like something out of a K-drama.

Is this happening right now?

Christ on a bike.

"Luna?" My mum grabs my hand, holding it delicately in her grasp.

"I'll take the offer." I splutter out.

Even I look at myself weird for answering so quickly.

"Are you sure? You don't want to think about it for a few days?" Dr.kim chuckles.

"I'm 100% sure. I won't ever get an offer like this ever again. It would be really nice to be able to talk to people who know what I'm going through. So yes please, I would like to accept this opportunity." I nod.

"I was hoping you would say yes." My mum suddenly hugs me, relived.

"Me too, i was worried you'd decline." Dr.kim smiles.

"Thank you Dr.kim, thank you for all that you've done." I stand up and bow in appreciation.

"You don't need to thank me. And call me Jin from now on." He nods.

"Thank you.....Jin." I smile.

"I also have another offer, only if it's okay with you though Miss.kim." He says a bit more quieter this time.

"Go on." Mum motions for him to carry on.

"If it's okay with you and also Luna, I'd like to invite Luna over for dinner tomorrow night. It's to meet the others to make sure she's comfortable with them. You can say no as you might find it a bit weird for me to invite her for dinner. But it's only to get to know the people i mentioned earlier. There will be no funny business I promise, and if there is any moment Luna wants to go home, I will personally take her back in an instant." He nervously smiles.

I've never been invited to dinner before.

Jimin, Mr.Jeon...... all of them are going to be there.

I can feel my stomach nervously drop.

"It's fine by me, it would be nice for her to go out and meet some new people. *Whispers* she doesn't have many friends." She covers her mouth on the last part.

"Thanks mum." I scoff and slightly die inside.

"Luna, would that be okay with you?" Jin raises an eyebrow.

I think I would die the entire time I'm there. But it would be interesting to see what the others are like outside of college and also making some friends would be nice.

"......Yes that would be okay." I smile nervously.

"Okay then it's decided. I'll come by .... I'll say 5.30pm? To pick you up and take you there." He smiles once again and stands up.

"Okay, should I bring anything?" I raise an eyebrow.

"No, just bring yourself. I better get home now as it's getting late and I need to finish off some paper work. I'll see you tomorrow, thank you for your hospitality Miss.kim." He bow's.

"Your welcome here anytime. Have a safe journey home and thank you for all your help." Mum opens up her arms and hugs him suddenly.

Jin freezes up for a moment and then relaxes, gently hugging her back.

"Thank you Miss.kim. Goodnight." He waves as he leaves.

The door closes and Mum has a smile on her face.

"He's a nice boy. You should date somebody like him." She smirks.

"Ya! Mum!!!!" My face turns pink and I playfully hit her arm.

"Wait!! Oh no!!!!....... I forgot I'm going to be eating there!!!!! Noooooooooo! Their gonna watch me eat! No no no." My face drops instantly.

I didn't properly think this through.
