"What did you say your name was again?"The police officer asked me.

"ASIA!" I screamed. I was beyond pissed at this point. My anger was at an all time high dealing with these police officers. On top of it all I was scared.

"Ms.Asia? I need you to calm down. I'm only here to help you but there isn't much we can do since your friend is an adult she isn't considered a missing person until 24 hours after they haven't been seen or heard from." He stated with a bored facial expression.

Prior to getting to Briy's apartment I called her three times but each time I called it went straight to voicemail. Her phone going to voicemail was very rare. That was strike one.

When I got to her apartment I saw her car was there. Therefore, her phone should not have been dead. If her phone was dead or even about to die she would've put it on the charger and sent me a text message telling me she'd call me when her phone was done charging. That was strike two.

While crossing the street heading towards her apartment I stepped on some glass which caused me to look down. Briyana's iPhone laid there with a shattered screen. I knew the iPhone belonged to her because the case I bought for her a few days ago was laying next to it. Why would she leave her phone lying in the street as if it was nothing? And that right there was strike three.

I knew right then and there something was wrong. I ran the rest of the way to her apartment banging on her door and screaming her name. I was banging and screaming until I came to the realization she gave me a key to her apartment for emergencies. I fumbled through the keys on my key ring until I found the one I needed. I put the key into the door praying she just wasn't in the mood to do anything anymore. I prayed she just didn't want to be bothered with anyone.

I turned the door knob waiting to see my best friend. There was no sign of Briyana anywhere. There wasn't any signs of force entry to the apartment nor was it trashed. I called her parents before completely panicking. Unfortunately nobody has been able to contact her since around the same time we spoke to each other about going to the club.

Now here I am face to face with a police officer. A police officer who's duty is to protect and serve yet, he's here telling me there's nothing he can do to help me.

I let out an obnoxious sarcastic laugh. "So, you are gonna stand here and tell me just because my best friend is over the age of eighteen she can't be in danger? Are we not in the same location right now. This is a crime scene dumbass. Look around you! My best friend's phone was found in the street with a shattered screen. Her car is parked right over there. All of her possessions are in sight but she isn't. I was supposed to meet her here and she's nowhere to be found. Where else could she possibly be?" I looked up at the sky trying to hold my tears in but they fell anyway. Anybody that knows me knows it takes a lot for me to cry especially in front of others. But, this whole situation has me on edge and angry at the same damn time.

"I understand you may be hurting right now but trust me I've seen this happen so many times. Your friend probably just needed to take a break from everything that may be happening in her life right now. Everybody has to take a step back every now and again." He said rubbing my arm before walking away to the other officers who arrived a few minutes ago.

The conversation between the officer and I caused me to battle with my conscience. Half of me wanted to take all my frustrations out on the police officer who was clearly in this line of work for the check. The other half of me knew I couldn't fight the idiot. If I were to get into a physical altercation with an officer I'll be arrested immediately and finding my best friend will most likely take even longer. I decided to just walk around to calm myself down before I broke down.
