Chapter 4: It's Just A Dream

Your POV

"That was quite delicious." Loki said, wiping his mouth with a napkin. "Is everyone finished?" I asked. Everyone nodded then stood up and left the dining room except for Loki. "Ok, then." I said to myself. I started to pick up the dirty plates and put them in the trash. "Why are you doing the cleaning?" Loki asked. "Everyday someone has to clean up after we eat. It would be helpful if you cleaned up too." I replied while bringing the dirty cups to the kitchen's sink. I returned to Loki pushing in the chairs. I grabbed a wipe and started to wipe the table. "Thank you" I said after he threw away the wipe when I finished wiping the table.

I started to walk towards my room. "You can come." I said to the lonely Loki in the dining room. He followed me into my room. "(Y/n), Danielle doesn't look like she's related to you." Loki said as he sat down on my the edge of my bed. I sat down in the middle of the bed, facing him. "Well, Dani she was a failed experiment. She was raised in a facility, tested on constantly, giving her powers. One day S.H.I.E.L.D., the organization that formed the Avengers, broke into the facility. Danielle escaped before S.H.I.E.L.D found her, she didn't know who they were but they kinda helped her out. She was never allowed outside until that day. She was scared and terrified. Lola was driving home from the market but found Dani in the middle of the street. Ever since that day Lola had been mentoring Dani, they have a strong relationship." I explained.

"What kind of powers does she have?" he asked. "Since the evil doctors wanted her to have the ability to teleport, they failed so whenever she teleports she goes to the destination but always snaps back to her original place. We call this the Yo-yo Effect. She has telekinesis, is bulletproof, has super intelligence, and has sanity control." I replied. "What's sanity control?" Loki asked. "We actually don't know. She never talks about it, she doesn't want to do anything with it." I said. "Anyways, I'm going to read Harry Potter." "What's Harry Potter?" Loki asked. "Here." I replied while giving him Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's (or Philosopher's) Stone. "What're you going to read then?" he said. "The second Harry Potter book. They are 7 books." I replied. He nodded and opened the book.

Loki's POV

It's been good 3 hours with (y/n). I occasionally glance over at her, watching her eyes scan the pages. "I think I should get ready for bed." she yawned. "Yes, darling." I replied. "I can tell you never show this kindness to others except the ones you love." she said as she got off the bed. "Hm, where shall I sleep for the night?" I asked, changing the subject. "I guess the couch. You can sleep here and I cou-" she said before I interrupted "I'll take the couch." She nodded, then exited the room, and went in the bathroom that was across the hallway. In a green flash I was in black, silk pajamas. She came back into the room and grabbed some blankets from her closet. "Here we go." (y/n) said as she handed me the blankets. "I guess you could use the pillows on the couch." "Thank you, dear." I said to her. As I opened the door I looked back at her. She was trying to hide the pink in her cheeks when I said "Goodnight, (y/n). "G-goodnight, Loki" she replied. I walked into the hallway and I heard the door close behind me.

Hours passed and I could not sleep. I kept thinking about (y/n) burying her face into my chest as she hugged me. Her sweet voice. My thoughts were interrupted when I heard crying from (y/n)'s room. In a green flash I teleported into (y/n)'s room, she was crying, twisting, and turning in her sleep. I read her mind and she was having a nightmare of my attack in New York. Should I tell her the truth? I debated in my head but decided not to, yet. I quickly got into the bed with her and calmed her down. "Shhh it's alright, it's just a dream. It's ok." I said to her. She slowly calmed down and went to sleep calmly.

Your POV

I woke up to the sun's light from my window and warmth on my back. Arms were wrapped around my waist. Someone was breathing softly on the nape of my neck. I turned around to find Loki. He fluttered his eyes open and pulled me closer to him. "Loki" I said lovingly. I then realized what I had just said and who was there. "LOKI!?" I screamed. "Hi" he said mischievously. I sat up and tried to scoot backwards but fell onto the floor, making a thud. I quickly stood up and Loki sat up, checking if I was ok. All of a sudden there were footsteps running in the hallway heading to my room, then we heard someone slide past the door. They hit a wall and we heard a big thud. Then we heard footsteps walking towards my door as I whispered to Loki "H i d e." He quickly went behind the door, against the wall. I quickly went into the bed. I see the door fly open and bash into Loki, both me and Loki try not to make any noises. Dani walks up to me, saying nothing. I say " Hey Dani! What's u- " but before I could finish, Dani pulls the blankets off my body. I'm confused yet surprised at the same time. Dani lifts up my arm and smells my side. She gives me a death stare, I nervously smile. She walks to the door and she pulls it back, revealing the "hidden" Loki. He looks at me and then nervously smiles at Dani, " aaah, Dani, long time no see?". Dani closes the door. Dani then looks back at me "Called it."

Dani opened the door which bashed into Loki again. He grunted. "MARISSA YOU OWE ME 20 BUCKS!" Dani shouted in the hallway. Before I could open my mouth Loki interrupted "You were having a nightmare. You were crying and I couldn't help but calm you down." "Oh t-thank you." I said as pink was rising into my cheeks. "Good thing you're awake. Imori's plane is going to land soon so change and, Loki may go too." mom said at the doorway before leaving. "What?" Loki asked. I looked back at Loki "Imori, my cousin, is coming here! I totally forgot. Let's get changed so we can pick her up from the airport." I came out of the room and entered the bathroom.

I brushed my teeth and exited the bathroom. I came back into my room and saw Loki in an all black suit. "Excuse me I need to-" I said before Loki interrupted "Ah yes." He left and closed the door. I changed into (any outfit) and brushed my hair. I put my (h/c) hair in ponytail. I walked out of my room to my mom saying "Come on we need to go." She unlocked the front door, unlocked the car, and hopped in the driver's seat. I went outside as did Loki behind me, and Dani. "Save the passenger's seat for Imori." Dani said. The three of us hopped in the backseat. Dani on the left side, me in the middle, and Loki on the right side. Lola came outside, waved, and locked the front door behind us.

"How about some music?" Dani asked. "Yes please" I answered. Dani raised her hand towards the radio and it turned on. Call Me Maybe started to play on the radio. "Oh no, here we go, again." mom said while she was pulling out of the driveway. "Where you think you're going baby. Hey I just met you and this is crazy. So here's my number so call me maybe." I sang while Dani shook her head, but smiled.

Loki's POV

I started to laugh at (y/n) singing. She stopped singing all of sudden. (Y/n) then turned to look at me with a shocked face. She looked down at her knee where I had accidentally placed my hand on. She looked up and said "U-uh." "I beg your pardon, but remove your hand from my friend or I'll remove it for you." Dani said before I could say anything. She gave me a death glare as I pulled my hand away from (y/n).

After an awkward 15 minutes, (y/n) fell asleep on my shoulder. I felt my cheeks blush. I felt like the happiest man, I had never experienced this before. After 30 minutes we arrived at the destination. "(Y/n), dear, we're here." I said softly into her ear. Why am I being so nice to a mortal? They are worthless....but (y/n) isn't. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME? I thought. She made a cute noise waking up. "We are?" she asked tiredly as she raised her head from my shoulder. "We're at Imori's terminal. She should - HEY!" Dorothy said as she got out of the vehicle. "Hey Auntie! Where's (y/n)?" Imori said as she rolled her suitcase towards the trunk. Dani got out, as did (y/n). I decided to come out too. I saw Imori hugging (y/n) tightly and then Dani. "This is Loki. Loki this is Imori." (y/n) said. Imori held her hand out, so I shook it.

We almost arrived at (y/n)'s house until Imori's body flopped forward as if it was lifeless. A face appeared behind Imori's headrest on her chair. "Boo!" said the face.

Dani's POV

"Boo!" said Imori's spirit. Loki then manly screamed/ shouted. Imori's spirit snapped back to her body, and we all started to laugh. The next second we saw a green flash. Slim Shady had just teleported somewhere. "Uh Loki?!" (y/n) said raising her voice. Dorothy pulled into the driveway and parked. (Y/n) immediately got out of the car. We got out of the car and opened the trunk to see Loki in there. He was in a fetus position, we laughed at the sight. There was a green flash and he appeared behind (y/n). He picked her up and started to tickle her. I never heard her laugh so hard. I decided to let them be and leave it to Dorothy. I took out Imori's suitcase as Imori asked "So who's Loki?" "PUT. HER. DOWN. NOW - thank you." Dorothy said to Loki as he put her down. "Well we met him yesterday after (y/n) had an attack because she saw his past. And now they're acting weird I guess. I'm pretty sure they like each other." I said quietly to Imori while as we walked inside the house.

Your POV

I followed behind everyone as we entered the house. I locked the front door, I turned around to see Loki in front of me. "I'm starving, I feel like cereal or a Nutella sandwich." I said. "Hmm. I don't know." Loki replied. He stepped closer to me as I stepped backwards. I realized that my back was against the door. "L-loki?" I asked nervously. "I need tell you something." he said as our faces were inches apart.
